I wonder if the teachers are more forgiving for student athletes. Dancers are often misunderstood!

How long did it take to hear back from buffalo? Also has anyone heard back from Rutgers?

I think my D heard from Buffalo rather quickly - 10 days or so?

My D is still waiting on Rutgers. She auditioned Jan. 25th. They sent an email a week later, saying the dance dept. and admissions dept. will notify us of a decision as soon as they can. My D applied regular decision, so the decision date for that is supposed to be around Feb. 28th. 78jade, did you receive the same email? When did you audition?

I auditioned for UB January 25th as well and haven’t received the email, maybe it’s on my moms email or I just haven’t gotten it yet. I auditioned for Rutgers back in early December and haven’t heard anything. My Rutgers Status still says “Audition Scheduled” so I’m assuming I won’t hear back for a while

Just auditioned for Rutgers this past weekend and was told a month which seems normal as I saw someone else post they received an acceptance about a month after.

@pmcolorado - Have you heard anything from Fordham yet?

4 rejections in one week, all I want is one “Yes”!

JDancer - that stinks. I’m sorry :(. Fingers crossed for good news, and I’m sure it will come!

A full week of auditions ahead: Loyola Marymount tomorrow, Pace And NYU this Friday and Saturday, and this follows a 3-day dance convention this past weekend. I don’t know how they do it.

For those who auditioned at Buffalo, any clue how many they accept? Thinking about possibly auditioning last minute

Nothing yet @Fordham19. Anything on your end yet?

JDancer - I want to say Buffalo takes 40? But I may be wrong. It was back in October that my D was there.

@pmcolorado -No, still waiting. Do you know anyone else who auditioned?

Yes, one girl that we saw this weekend at a dance convention/competition. She is there at Ailey now doing her last year of HS in the year-round program. She doesn’t have an admission decision yet either, but her mom did say that they were told there would be no scholarship/merit aid for dancers this year. Don’t know if that’s true, just hearsay at this point. Bummer if it’s true!!

Hmmm…I assume she’s referencing Ailey aid and does not include scholarships that would come directly from Fordham - I hope…

This is a link to the Theater and Dance Department Scholarship page for UB. <a href=“Department of Theatre and Dance - University at Buffalo”>Department of Theatre and Dance - University at Buffalo;
They traditionally do not give dance scholarships to freshman dance majors. Academic awards are possible though. However, note that students will be competing with the thousands of incoming freshman (many of whom are coming in for very competitive academic majors in other areas) for a very few academic awards. This is a State school so money is not as available to all students as it is at most private schools.

Thank you I’ve been on the website, they didn’t state the number though, I’m in state so that wouldn’t be a problem with money. I’m not going to be applying and auditioning last minute to Buffalo though because I just got into Mason Gross at Rutgers! I couldn’t be happier!

DD got her acceptance into the Rutgers/Mason Gross BFA program today. No information about scholarships which they said would come later. She auditioned on Feb. 8th. Yay!

JDancer, when did you audition at Rutgers? My D auditioned on Jan. 25th.
