revoked/rescinded/whatever

anyone know if they review transcripts as they get them or what

Yes!!!

Schools ask for mid-year reports and final reports and they look closely at them(At least reputable schools do)…

They do not want to see seniors slacking once they are accepted. Many of the best schools will revoke your acceptance and give it to someone who has been wait litsted.

i know they go over them and all lol

i just had 2 small things that i messed up on my application and let them know about 2-3 months ago and just want to make sure everythings ok

I would call them, just to ease your mind. You will feel better just knowing. =)

did too many times to count… told me its probably fine and never really got a final answer/they won’t let me talk to my admission counselor or anything lol its ridiculous… emailed them 2-3 months ago and never got an answer either but they did get the messages because there’s a note on my record noting the change so ye

you either
A. have to have lied big time on your application (a small mistake on your app is no biggie…)

B. have gotten a D or F or a butt load of Cs.

seriously, you have to have really screwed up to get revoked.

didnt do either lol a class i took was AP then changed to honors and its recognized by the UC system as a honors/weighted so it doesn’t change my gpa or anything and i put ap gov/econ as ‘in progress’ then ‘planned’ when each is only a semester cus i didn’t really understand what they said/meant on that part of the app

emailed both to my counselor 2-3 months ago and both messages were marked as ‘read’…never got any kind of response & when i called they said there’s a note about the honors/AP thing on my record and that everyone does the in progress/planned thing so im assuming everythings ok…

I got revoked the other day from a csu. I stayed for the overnight orientation, and was revoked 5 minutes before it had ended, as all of the freshman has registered for class schedules. I did not lie on my application, but I did not meet the requirements. I honestly did not know that freshman year math did not count, and D’s were exempt from being accredited. Admissions counselers told me to speak to the dean of admissions since i had been mislead and was at a huge inconvenience, being that i attended orientation and paid for it … also my placement testing, as well as narrowing down my options as i did sent my intent to register so early; eliminating all of my other options, i had an early conditional acceptance, and if i were to have been notified that i did not meet the requirements, i would have kept my options open or couldve taken extra classes online or at an adult education center like i have before.

i am completely, in shock, so is my family.

Two days from now i will plea my case to the dean, the counselors said he will probably take the case to the council, and they will all vote on it, they also said to bring up everything i possibly can … how i could have been informed at the begininng of orientation. attending orientation meeting people, participating in all the events and signing up for clubs … all to be revoked right when i was about to leave. Don’t get me wrong, I am almost 90% anticipating a “no.” But the counselors say my case is unique considering the fact that i was so misled and at a huge inconvenience … and i was thinking that just maybe there could be an exception. ): help, sympathy, supprt?

WHY I WAS NOT “ADMISSABLE”: missing 4 credits of math and 1 credit of science. and my gpa was low, but i did score decent on the sats but … it did not average out to have met the requirements.

^ wow that is horrendous news. How can they revoke a student so late??? Is there any… legal action you can take?

^^I have absolutely no idea. My main concern is attending the college. It is csu east bay. One of the lower ranked csus who almost accept anyone. They are always short of incoming freshman. And being that I was already counted for, make me extremely angry. They accomodated me into there freshman orientation program … i even stayed the night in the housing developments.

What do you think my chances are … anyone? ): I could really use some advice … this situation has left me scattered minded.

There is always community college. And hard to say,

They can easily ask, “Your classmates understood the requirements, why didn’t you?”

So its hard to say.

to henry- Community college is always an option. The ones like santa monica and el camino are really good schools! And they have guaranteed transfer programs to UCs now that take about two years.

Henry, I agree with the others that community college might be a good option for you. You are going to have to take math somewhere and if you have struggled with it, it would be much easier and far less expensive to take it at a community college. Plus, you can get other GE classes out of the way and transfer into a 4 year college later. It is within the CSU’s right to revoke your admission if you did not satisfy the conditional acceptance. There are a number of great community colleges in the bay area.

I think you should be re-imbursed for the fee’s that you paid, because they made you pay them, right?
