Anyone buy a computer!?!?

If you buy a computer through UDel's partners(Apple, Dell, Sony, etc) do we pay sales tax? Delaware doesn't have sales tax, right? So if we buy through UDel's programs it would seem like we wouldn't pay tax. I've ordered through a college's book store before from Dell and paid that states tax, not my own... I thought it'd be the same. I'm out of state and ordered some stuff and paid like $200 in tax! I wasn't thinking that I'd have to but I guess I did.

Thoughts?

On a side note, what types of computers is everyone bringing? Laptop? Desktop? Apple? What?

If you had it sent to your home, they probably charged your state's sales tax percentage (which I thought was the norm). So you can probably save money if they have an arrangement where stuff can be sent to the college directly - but you would probably want to play/use it beforehand.

Yeah, they told me that if I shipped it to Delaware I wouldn't be charged sales tax but like you said, I wanted to use it before move in day.

Ahhh... too bad... I just hate to give my money away!

I just got a Toshiba Satellite M45-S355 laptop. There was a great deal in last week's Compusa ad and I got a ton of free stuff with it.

Yeah, the model that I wanted isn't exactly mainstream and the best deals that I found in stores like circuit city, best buy, comp usa, office depot, etc were still ALOT more than going direct with Sony.... it was like 23% off from Sony.
