Anyone buy a memoryfoam topper?

where and how much?

i seem to remember sams or costco, but we are not members or either.

how about kohls?

We’ve gotten ours from Sams Club.

Kohls, BBB, Penneys, Sears, and Overstocks . com also have them. Pretty much any place that sells bedding has them.

Costco has them on coupon this month - $20 twin or full. We have a queen-size one not being used here so going to cut it down to fit :)

Got a 4 inch one from overstock.com. I think I paid about $60.

Will the twin size foam work okay on twinXL mattresses? I’ve seen better prices and quality for the plain twin but was hesitant about the size.

yes, just put it near the top of the bed. the feet will survive. : )

I just wonder- do you not dream of sinking in quick sand on a memory foam topper? I sampled one once in Macy’s and it kind of scared me. . .

^ which is why we have a barely used one here - I couldn’t stand it! Thankfully DS doesn’t mind it one bit.

i think it would make me TOO HOT!

IMHO they feel all clammy and gross -

^^^^

cover your foam topper with a mattress pad and a fitted sheet…then no clammy feeling.

Some of the newer ones come with a cover.

Got a 4-inch (2.5" memory foam and 1.5" eggcrate together) XL Twin from Walmart.com for $79. Even has free shipping to your home.

I’m not the biggest fan of memory foam. It’s a great product that works for many people, but it’s not something I need for my bed. Plus, I tend to prefer a firm bed. I do highly recommend a mattress pad though.

Glad I asked. S tends to be warm and keeps to only a light blanket at most. Sounds like the foam pad will be too warm for him. Guess we’ll stick to a mattress pad.

They do have memory foam toppers called memcool which are supposed to have increased air circulation to prevent them from feeling too hot. My d has one at home and loves it.

For anyone who has used a memory foam topper before - Ours arrived today rolled up in a tight package. It says to open and let air out for 24-48 hours. Would you just leave it rolled up for ease of transport/dorm move in or do we really need to open and air it out before we head to UA? I’m worried it will be a huge pain to get in the dorm once it has been opened and is fully “fluffed” up.

We bought one and didn’t undo it before move in. It had a ridge in the center and was a bit uneven when we opened it, but did not have an odor. D didn’t mention it the next day so it must have been fine.

We did the same as momofonly1 and it worked fine. Definitely takes up a lot more room when you unroll it!

we opened ours on friday night. it went to shape just fine. it was a little stinky, but the smell was gone by the next day.
