Anyone currently at Penn start out in the College and then go for College+Wharton?

I am a classical studies guy who is doing some other stuff......I am planning to study law and then public policy.....you know try to make the US function better on the other side of the world. Fels Institute and all. I tend to think of Whartonites as the BigBanking/Hedge guys....I am not interested in Wall Street or Banking unless it would be WorldBank

Ah I was under the impression you were enrolled in Wharton or something? A College man, yourself?

I have a daunting feeling I won't get that email back from Tiffany :( Hmm. At least I think the schedule is set for now.

She may be out recruiting.

If she's in the office she'll definitely email you back.

thinkjose1 are you a dualee or joint? I take Wharton courses but I also take Fels Institute too so I am not getting a Wharton degree but a mention of the minor for what it is worth.

Single degree.

Tiff is also a regular advisor for Wharton.

Ahh is she your personal advisor, Jose?

Nah. She was everyone's summer "advisor" though.

So Jose you must have done courses this summer...both sessions? How full was it....I am planning to be around next summer unless I get LSAT done early and then I may still be there.

What's Fels institute?

· MGA/Master of Social Work (School of Social Work)
· MGA/Master of Education Leadership (Graduate School of Education)
· MGA/Master of City Planning (Graduate School of Fine Arts)
· MGA/Master of Business Administration (The Wharton School)

Like Woody Woo in Princeton :p

Haha, no. She just answered regular pre-frosh questions.

Zante it is not so much like WoodyWoo for that is more about diplomacy...I am also looking to do some work at Kennedy School of Government. All of these specialties have just that a personality and it is interesting. Fels does a lot of research on voting.

i started in the college and am now dual degreeing with wharton. you can ask me if you have any questions.

i love penn, what's the req to do a double degree in both the college and wharton? like a minimum GPA or something? also, do you have to go through the entire re-application process like writing essays, getting recs etc?

Thanks!!

yea, you have to have around a 3.6-3.7 to be competitive, and you apply at the end of freshman year. it's based solely on GPA, not even the difficulty of your classes. if you don't make it then, there's 2 other chances to apply- middle of soph year and end of soph year.
