Has Clemson lessened its criteria for acceptances? Everyone from my school (OOS) that applied got in.. even people with much lower SATs and/or GPAs than the Clemson website and the naviance scattergrams from my school stated. I feel like it is almost a fluke. Anyone know of anyone who has gotten denied?

hmm yeah that's interesting, Maybe Clemson needs more money from out-of-state students because the south carolina government is cutting funding for Clemson? I got in yesterday with awful grades (good test scores though). I definitely hope it's not a fluke. That'd be awful

I'm OOS state and got accepted in Oct with an out of state waiver.

My best friend who has similar stats but slightly lower test scores got wait listed. I was very surprised. I thought she would get accepted..

So maybe they are not rejecting anyone who applied by the priority notification date, just putting them on a wait list??

I'm out of state in PA, and got waitlisted with:
580 SAT Critical Reading
710 SAT Mathematics (1290/1600)
560 SAT Writing (1850/2400)
28 ACT Composite
29 ACT English
31 ACT Math
3.3 Unweighted GPA
4.0 Weighted GPA
I'm taking 3 AP classes this year, and took one last year. I got 3 A's and 3 B's first semester.
As far as I can tell, Clemson hasn't lowered its criteria for acceptance, because I feel I should have been accepted.

What do you think my chances of being accepted off of the waitlist are?

Has anyone any information on appeals? if denied admission

I got waitlisted.
I was kind of suprised. I'm OOS with 1130 CR/Math, 550 M 580 CR
top 15% of my class
public school
4.00 weighted GPA

Did everyone that got rejected get wait listed or did just some people get waitlisted?
If I got waitlisted is there still a decent chance of getting in? No one I know applied to clemson because I'm from RI and it's not a really popular choice for people up here, so I have nothing to compare to.

I was incredibly surprised to get wait listed, especially after having been admitted to two much more prestigious schools.

Stats
2.9 UW
3.4 Weighted
5 APs by the end of this year
32 composite ACT
Outstanding essays and recs
OOS

edit* not bothering with the wait list, as I said earlier I have already been accepted to two schools which are better for me personally than Clemson(ironically a safety)

And you got accepted where?

2.9/3.4 is a very low GPA for Clemson. I'm not at all surprised that you got wait listed...

I am not at all surprised that you got waitlisted with a 2.9 GPA. I think the reason they even waitlisted rather than reject you is because of your high ACT score. What were the two more prestigous schools that accepted you?
