Is anyone here doing a dual-degree with the Manhattan School of Music? (or Juilliard) Can you tell me anything about it in terms of workload and stress and rewards? I’m looking to do biology at Barnard College and pursuing a conservatory degree in piano performance. Does this sound at all…possible?

Hey, I'm applying to these programs, too. Just so you know: you don't get a dual degree with MSM. It's only private lessons. If you get into Juilliard (which is pretty unlikely and nobody has done it in years...a very long time from what they told me in admissions), you get a master's degree after 5 years.

Just as a quick note: A friend this past year was admitted into both Juilliard and Columbia. She chose to attend Columbia while still being able to take part in the exchange program with Juilliard. So far, she is enthralled with both programs and doesn't mind the extra work/stress. Have some faith...it is possible! :)
