Is it incredibly difficult to do0?? Has anyone heard of people who do this? I'm thinking of going to either Business school or law school in the future, and since I'm also interested in math/science, I also want to do engineering.
I applied to the college of L and S as a prebusiness. So if I want to do this double major, what courses do I need to pick in my first year?
Last, if I choose a double major, does that mean I won't have time to do anything related to History/English? I wonder if that'll affect my chance of being admitted to law school (though law school does not require a specific concentration)

Wow, you’re insane ^^ Make up your mind! No one in their right mind would try a pre-law engineering-business degree ><

Actually, anything is doable, it’s a question of whether you have the capability/will to (e.g. I have a friend who’s a triple major: Math, CS, and Business. She’s doing very well). If necessary, you might be taking 20 units a semester with summer courses added on, but if its ultimately worth it, go for it.

First of all, it’s not a double major unless you’re doing Computer Science in L&S. Also, you would’ve benefited from being admitted in CoE first since it’s so competitive. For engineering,

“If you are in another college on the Berkeley campus, you will need to apply for a change of college. The deadline is always February 15th for admission to the following fall semester.”

There are already a lot of classes you would have to take for business. Adding on engineering requires you to take a lot more. History/English too. iVinshe’s friend’s triple major works because Math and CS probably have more classes in common than your simultaneous degree/double major idea. Sure, if you want to work very hard, go for the simultaneous degree/double major, but you will have to take more classes than a regular student and would probably have to do summer school. Also, there’s a cap on total units for some colleges like L&S.

What you need to do is look at what majors you want and figure out how you can schedule them to fit the core and elective classes in 4 years (if you don’t want to be a super senior). When you’re at Berkeley, you will get a better sense of how majors work and what you want in the future.

Don’t worry, you have a lot of time to figure it out. You haven’t even had your first semester yet. What I was talking about was that you have to first change your college to CoE for the engineering major (presumably in freshmen year) and then you have to apply to Haas to get in (usually in sophomore year). In L&S, you’re not in Haas. You have to apply to get into the “college.” You can be in both colleges, but since you applied in L&S, you have to switch colleges to get an engineering major.

Would it be hard to make the switch? What courses do I have to take before Feb to be switched into engineering?
Thanks for your information, btw. Really appreciate it ^_^

also, where can I find my freshman year courses for prebusiness (and do I have to take them to get into Haas?) - since I don’t declare my major until the sophomore year
