I know this is a very long shot but.... I was wondering if there is anyone who has been accepted to Kimball Union with financial aid and may be going elsewhere?

I was accepted with minimal financial aid and the response from school is that all funds have been allocated but after April 10 th more money may become available. I am planning on going to revisit day April 5 th , but I don't want to fall in love all over again and not be able to go to boarding school.

If you are going that is great... And I hope to meet you.

My child was accepted to KUA with a significant FA award but most likely will be going elsewhere. I know KUA is one of the most generous schools (total FA vs endowment) but they still have a large number of people on the FA waitlist. There will be others also declining awards, but there will still be far more people needing aid than they can help.

Are you on he waitlist for more aid, or did they already meet what they think is your demonstrated need? (I understand you need more than offered to make it work, but it is important to know what the school’s opinion is.)

KUA is a great school in my opinion. I hope you can make it work.

They were able to meet need that the SSS form recommended but I need much more than that to be able to actually go. So I guess I am not on a FA waiting list …just trying to get more $$ to afford it . Not sure of how that works .
Everyone at the school has been very nice and I really hope I can attend. Thanks for your response.

A FA waitlist is what the school places you on when they have accepted you but do not have the funds to grant you FA. If on the waitlist, you might have a part of what you need or nothing at all. The school then doles out FA as it comes back from students declining the school.

What it sounds like, in your case, is a very unfortunate situation. The school, most likely, will not give you any more FA, as they have met your supposed needs. If you have an asset (like a vacation home), the school will expect you, if you direly want to attend, to give that up in order to make ends meet.
