Anyone else apply ED?

Hey Decisions get sent out early next week! I'm excited. Anyone else apply?

I applied ED and the anticipation is killing me. Some things I have read said decisions are being mailed on the 15th and others say they will be mailed by the 15th. But like you said, they will be mailed next week.

Theyre being mailed monday and will be on the online portal wednesday  :)

anybody know what time on wednesday they will be posted on the porta??

My sister applied 4 years ago and I also applied early decision. When she applied they did not post the acceptances on the portal. She got a letter in the mail. I can’t recall if she got it on the 15th or if it was mailed on the 15th.

Unfortunately I was rejected ED. But I am confused over something in the rejection letter. It states “At Union, each year we have more then nine candidates for each opening” It then goes on to explain how competitive admissions are.

My question is why did they mention nine candidates for each opening? I signed up for ED 1 and under academic interests I put, Political Science, Pre-Law, and Social Sciences. The Union law and public policy program (3 + 3 Law program) accepts 10 students a year. I didn’t sign up for the Pre-Law program but maybe I was put in as an applicant for it by saying I was interested in Pre-Law?

At first I thought it meant for every opening spot they have, there are nine candidates that applied. But this doesn’t make sense because the college has around a 40% overall acceptance rate.

Any thoughts on this? I will be meeting with my GC later this week to discuss this. And how did everyone else do? Accepted, rejected, wait listed?

did you submit your SAT scores?

No I did not submit my SAT scores, submitting was optional. I had a 3.7 GPA, a great essay, tons of EC’s, heavily involved in my local community, excellent letters of recommendation, and my interview went great. Unfortunately I am not related to any Union Alumni. But I am ok with being rejected. Everything happens for a reason and I guess I was meant to go to another school.

Would other people that were accepted/rejected please post their stats? Thanks.

“It states “At Union, each year we have more then nine candidates for each opening” It then goes on to explain how competitive admissions are.”

They get almost 5000 apps and actual frosh class is about 550, thus 9:1 ratio.

i got in!!! ahhhhhhhh i’m freaking out!!!

I’m in  Wohoo!!!

feels good doesn’t it - to get in and move on, I’m glad it’s over

Good work, guys !!! Looking forward to see you guys on campus next year !!! Shoot me a message if you guys have any questions or post here !!! I will try to answer them since I am on break right now !!!

For the people who got in ED, are you going to the ED enrolled program thing on Feb. 25 at Union?

do you know if you need to send in your semester 1 grades if you’re applying EDII ?
for the people that got accepted: did Union ask you for your quarter 1 grades for EDI ?

they didn’t ask for my Q1 grades. i have no idea if they want first semester grades for EDII. you should probably call or email them and ask.
