as a transfer ..... ?

meeeeeeeeeeeee

cool, where are you now?

I applied to Amherst for Spring 2006, and so far they haven't gotten back to me.... not good.

mdurkes, what school do you currently attend ?

currently none. I decided to take the fall semester/quarter off, but before I had been attending a small, local college where I live in Northern Illinois

cool . in theory, amherst seems great, but i'm very worried about my chances. it is scary to think that i do not know where i will be this time around next year.

relax pinkearmuffs. remember, the real key to admissions (besides solid stats) is to tell an interesting, cohesive story throughout your application about your passions and how you will add to their "community." B/c you want to write, you should be able to figure out how to do that. I think your chances are better than mine now to be honest, so best of luck to you. You might want to look at some other very good LACs were admission is a bit easier, like Wesleyan, and 15-ranked and lower LACs. Oberlin is amazing for writing. As a writer, I would think contact with faculty would be more important than how good a student your fellow-students are.

anyone know when the 2006-2007 transfer app will be out? thanks.

so, I called up Amherst and they told me that they have not reached a decision on applicants for the spring 2006 term. I have to tell my other colleges who accepted me if I am going to their respective schools, and it looks like I will be eating a couple of hundred bucks for that.

Do you guys know when they will be mailing the decisions? As an aside, I think it is kind of cool that their decisions take this long. A pain- yes, but still cool.

rejected!!!!!
congrats to those who were accepted. I have done college apps too many times for this to really mean that much, so PEACE!!!

mdurkes, its probably a blessing in disguise....that place is depressing

mgrace5, you rock
