I binged the whole six seasons this week. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! My kids had been telling me about it for a while but I never got around to it. But now that I had the time…
What do we watch next after we are done with Schitt’s Creek?

I love this show and I’m going to miss it. This week I watched the series finales and the farewell cast shows for both Schitt’s Creek and Modern Family. There were definitely some parallels between the two shows, one being how much the casts genuinely seemed to like each other. I like drama series, but I crave the 30-minute sitcoms that make me laugh and have characters I love. With these two gone, I don’t have one to look forward to anymore and I need one now more than ever. I guess it’s time for reruns.
I would recommend Atypical if you can find it- also short episodes and terrific.
Adding… I thought the actor who played Jake was brilliant casting!
I have adored this show since Tom and Lorenzo first recommended it. The characters have had beautiful development arcs. The episode that first made me tear up was “Happy Anniversary” at the end of season 2, when the Roses finally came together with each other as a family, and realized who their friends truly were.
The costuming is amazing.
I loved this show and after having watched the final episode last night, I already miss it!
Coming here to say I just recently finished watching this and though I am late to the party, what a great show! The writing was amazing–really like reading a wonderful novel. Loved the characters, especially David. Alexis grew so much. Adore Stevie. Never really warmed to Roland, though he had his moments toward the end. Feel for Jocelyn. Adore the twist they gave Twyla. Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara were perfect together.
Might have to start right over again!
After finishing Schitt’s Creek last week we went back and re-watched A Mighty Wind. Johnny and Moira as Mitch and Mickey. So talented. Cannot imagine that Moira Rose is what Kate McAllister (Home Alone) turned into!!!
NOT a spoiler, if you’ve watched the show you are accustomed to Moira’s “wardrobe”:
Moira’s outfit at the wedding sent me literally ROFL!!
Last night I was able to enjoy an hour of Dan Levy live on Zoom for a Q and A. My D is a grad student at Ohio State and they offered it to students. (And she is home).
He was every bit as genuine, kind, funny, relatable as when you see him on television. So complementary and encouraging to the students who interviewed him and asked questions. Very compassionate and gave good suggestions to students who are queer about finding support.
I love him even more now!
Ted Lasso definitely has the most Schitt’s Creek like tone of anything I’ve seen. Warm, funny and focuses on the good in people.
It was rather silly in the first few episodes, but my sister talked me into sticking with it. I’ve been watching it now and then for the past few months. My husband does not care for it, so I watch on my own… these days during indoor cycling.
Yeah I think it really found it’s footing in the second season. I liked it mostly from the start, but there was some cringe, too.
For me, the very obvious turning point was the finale of season 2. Prior to that episode, I really struggled to continue watching. Then from season 3 on, I couldn’t wait to watch the next episode. The entire tone of the series pivoted at that point and it became much less about cringe and more about personal growth, acceptance, and family. Those of you struggling early on, give yourself the gift of perseverance through the first two seasons and you will be amply rewarded going forward.
