Anyone else deferred ED --> waitlisted?

<p>I always feel like such a tool starting threads on CC, for some odd reason. But I’m curious…</p>

<p>I applied ED to Brown as my top choice, got deferred to regular decision, and am now waitlisted. I guess Brown wants to make this process as long as possible for me?</p>

<p>Did this happen to anyone else? I’m not sure how common it is.</p>

<p>The only advantage ED people have who’ve been deferred is that they know Brown’s your top choice if you applied early, especially if you wrote them a letter following your deferral restating that point.</p>

<p>I wonder how many waitlisted people there are?</p>

<p>looked into Princeton Review’s 366 Best Colleges Book (2006). says that only 2% of Brown waitlistees ultimately get the offer.</p>
