Thoughts? - on other threads I have read that colleges typically won’t do this as it simply prolongs an already agonizing time…On the other hand, BC knows they were a first choice - do you think they will look differently at your app?

Hi flamom,
I was deferred Early Action and waitlisted regular decision. I'm at a standstill, because I don't really know what to do now. Four other students were accepted from my school, and unfortunately this past week I've been getting the "Life's not fair" talk from all my teachers. I believe I am a highly qualified individual for Boston College... do you think my admittance was hindered by the fact that my brother attends BC?

^^^^having a sibling attend never hurts you....? it might even give you a slight to huge boost in chances. Do you care to post your stats?

My son was deferred EA and then waitlisted RD two years ago. He then got off the waitlist and is attending BC currently. This year my younger son was accepted to BC. So dont loose hope. Hang in there! The only advise I can offer is let BC know that you want to remain on the waitlist. Reserve your spot in another school that you would like to attend and then forget about BC. Dont let the waitlist spoil the rest of your senior year. Plan as if you were going to attend the other school. If its meant to happen it will. Good Luck! Things work for the best.
