i got rejected too. i wasnt really planning on going there even if i got in, but it makes me nervous for the schools im still waiting for...particularly nyu.

wow, lovebluth I'm having a hard time understanding why you got rejected...those numbers look pretty good to me, this whole admissions process seems so arbitrary

Wow - Today must be the day they rejected the psych apps. I was rejected too. :-( At least I know I am not alone. In fact, judging by your stats I was in very good company.
3.22 GPA
1990 SAT

Maybe it was because it was under Psych? I think it's one of the most competitive majors."

Yeah, psych is VERY competitive at poly. Nice stats though, I would have thought you would have been in. I think CR_book's friend takes the cake, though.

yeah, i got rejected (for business major), too :( i was so shocked.
i got into ucd + ucsc, too... i wonder what went wrong? maybe i made a mistake and accidentally said that i was a convicted murderer or something...

It's a good department, to be sure. As for Poly being "known" for it, I wouldn't go that far. Poly is more "known" for its science and engineering majors. It's VERY popular, however, and very difficult to get into. One of my psych prof's was telling me that a mom was making angry phone calls becuase her daughter got rejected ED for Psych with a 4.3 and a 1400 (old).

SLO isn't "known" in the national ranking sense for many of its programs, although in the industry, people tend to know it for engineering and such. That looks really odd, and it seems to be that this year is super competitive. I guess the admissions are trying to make the school more selective to at least attract some attention to this top CSU.

A good friend of mine got rejected today. He applied as an ecomonics major like I did. The weird part is his stats are significantly better than mine.

I had a 3.75 GPA and an 1800 on the SAT. He had a 4.1 GPA and an 1890 on the SAT, but didn't get in. We both got rejected from UCD and UCSB as well.
