got the letter and invite to some events after January. i guess that means we're in. i wish i got that scholarship thing too but hey

-not posting my stats-

My DS received the letter and email also. His letter talked about being invited in late Feb for some special events being held in March and April. Also invited him to come before that for an overnight visit, stay with a current student, attend class, etc. He was surprised coz he thought only athletes receive likely letters.

I keep trying to convince myself maybe they just haven't reviewed my application yet (sent it in at the last minute - =( ) because they're obviously not done, otherwise they woud send acceptances/rejections, in theory... but I wasn't really expecting one of these anyway. I can keep hoping though. =P

Hey I also get the "distinguished application" letter and the email...but is the scholarship letter included in that letter? or is it separate?

it says on mine that "In late February, we will invite you to join us for one of several special events we will be hosting in March and April for students of exceptional promise" I dont understand how they can reject you after saying that they'll invite you to come after decisions are posted (late Jan) haha....anyway here are my stats

hey, it will be a couple of weeks until I have access to my mail, so I don't know if I have received the invite letter or not...did anyone receive the nice email but not the invite letter? or do they go hand in hand? just curious. Does anyone know too if this also has anything to do with honors college?

I got the likely letter and the scholarship invite today as well. I'm still not 100% sure if I'm going to the scholarship day... I got into Yale SCEA and I'm not sure if I want to complicate the choice of where to go by potentially getting money. At the same time, I want to keep my options open... gahhh.

Finesse16, did it say which merit scholarship you're a finalist for? and also was a separate letter or did it come with that "likely" letter? Thanks!!

does anyone know of people in past years who have gotten a 'distinguished application' letter but not gotten in to the school?

got the likely letter and email! but no scholarship invite...yet? do they come in the same envelope?

humiliatedgrape, I highly doubt that would happen. I mean, I have no real basis for this, but I feel like if they took the time to send you the letter, why would they reject you after going through all that trouble?

yeah i agree. thanks for the reassurance!
