Anyone else get ELC guaranteed acceptance to Davis?

I was just wondering if anybody else out there got guaranteed acceptance to Davis through ELC. I also got guaranteed at Merced, Santa Barbara, Irvine, and Riverside I think…but anyways, congratulations to anyone who did. I’m just really happy about it and wanted to find someone outside my school to celebrate with (kinda late, I know  )

I did!
and got accepted to the same schools as you. If I don’t get into my top choices it’s between Davis and Santa Barbara but as of right now Davis has the upper hand. I visited Davis once and really liked the campus atmosphere

same here. got some letter telling me i got into davis out of the blue. it’s pretty nice knowing i’ve got a school to fall back on.

I wish! My school is way too competitive.

Congratulations though, you really deserve it for being top in the top 4% of your class.

What really irks me is that starting next year, ELC would be top 9%, not top 4%, meaning I would be eligible if I were one year younger or one grade below…If I get into Davis then I won’t mind, but still >.>

ANyone who got an ELC letter got an official email from Davis yesterday confirming admission and stuff.

I got in for this current school year. It allowed me to only apply for UCSD and UCB knowing I had here.

wait, what do you mean simpsonman? How come you were only allowed to apply to UCSD and UCB and not the other UCs?

^ I didn’t say I was only allowed to, I said “it allowed me to”

Since I knew I was already in Davis and liked it, I only needed to apply to a few other UCs (berkeley for ****s and giggles)

oh. hahhaa. interesting. i was just wondering cuz SD and B are the two other UCs I applied to as well. i didnt feel like wasting money and applying to more than 3 UCs.

^good idea.

I didn’t bother applying to UCLA because I didn’t like the school. If you have guaranteed acceptance into a school you like, why bother?

I remember telling everyone I only applied to 3 schools and they would always be like OMG ONLY 3 *** WHAT IF YOU DON’T GET IN. I loled

hahahaha. i totally understand that feeling. some people i know applied to nine UCs. crazy, right?

I got my letter yesterday! Very excited that I have UC Davis to fall back on.

I got my letter too. Now I don’t have to worry so much. It’s a long wait till mid-march for the others though…

Coongradulations! You guys are so lucky! I applied to UC Davis from out-of-state, so now I have the long wait until March :(. But hopefully, I will be with you all next year! :)

My son got his Acceptance to Davis on 12/23. ELC guaranteed him the acceptance to the major of his choice at Davis. Pretty sweet deal.

And as others have said, my son was also received guaranteed acceptance letters from UCSD, UCSB, UCI, and UCM. His first pick would be UCB, if he gets accepted.

Was UCSD added to the list of campuses with guaranteed admission?

^^
was it?! UCSD is my top choice, but I didn’t receive an ELC letter. Everyone who did is really lucky!!

UCSD sent out this letter saying that we were all part of ELC and we should apply to UCSD. They were sneaky enough to not mention the fact that our admissions were not guaranteed - false hope. Anyway, did anyone receive an application confirmation from UC Berkeley yet?

I recieved the confirmaiton from Cal about 1-2 weeks ago. And ya… i don’t think UCSD gives gaurenteed acceptence from ELC, they however do say that they will be glad to have you? subtle lol

My son got guaranteed acceptance to UCSD for ELC. Must be other factors they look at. He received GTY acceptance to UCSD, UCD, UCSB, UCM, and UCI. He was hoping for the same with UCB.
