Anyone else get in?

Hi everyone,
I just found out today that I got into NCF and I was wondering if anyone else has gotten in/applied/plans to apply for the class of '09.
Also, I wanted to see if everyone's stats were similar to mine:

Highly competative Tampa public school
670v 680m 720writing 680mIIc
In upper 15% of class
Mostly As, a few Bs.

How exciting to see someone on this board!

I applied to NCF and should be hearing from them in the next week or so. Very excited; I never liked any in-state schools until I found New College. I'm nervous. Because of how tiny it is, I'm not so sure about my chances, but what can you do? I'll post them anyway for the heck of it and let ya know when I hear in a week.

29 ACT, 670V/540M, 730 Writing, 600 U.S. Hist, 570 Spanish
4/366 at a crappy Pinellas high school
4.6 weighted, with all my B's in math courses
6 APs total, good EC's, recs, etc

Well, what do you know, my acceptance came today. :-D Woo!

Wow! Congratulations!!!

I was sooo excited when I got my letter because it was my first one. lol.
I don't like the "respond in 30 days" thing... I think I'll write an extension-letter to May 1st, because I want to see what other offers I get in March.

We should IM eachother if you're planning on going. I'm about 85% sure I'll go... PM me your screenname if you wanna talk about NCF.

I didn't know about NCF until recently, well I've heard of it but didn't think of it seriously. So I'm about to start my application. Are there any other schools that's similar to NCF? Less competitive and expensive, yet reputed for good quality of education.

Hmmm... do you mean like little public liberal arts colleges?
haha, no, NCF is pretty dern unique.
If you're looking for less competative, Warren Wilson College is somewhat similar in campus environment although their program is different. Just about all the schools in College Confidential's Top Lacs are similar to New College in the basic theme: no required courses, individually guided curriculum, great learning environment, etc. These schools include Williams, Wesleyan, Middlebury, etc. although they are more competative than NCF. I really don't know of any institution that's as cheap as New College, less competative, and with a similar quality level. Hard question to answer.

I don't think there is any other school with educational quality equal to NCF that is less expensive. NCF is a VERY good deal. Especially if you are a Florida resident.

My brother goes to NCF and I've visited the campus on several occassions. If you want to talk about the school--academics/social life/anything else IM me at plasticnoise87 or email me at dfvidaurre@sjcsf.edu

I go to St. John's College, the Great Books college. If you haven't heard of this school you might want to check it out. It is very different from NCF in many ways but it is also similar in many ways. The college website is: www.sjca.edu

Wow, david... I applied to St. John's and I'm going to NCF! How crazy is that?
I know they are utterly different, but I'm an all-or-nothing type person... If you're gonna give me requirements, I only want them... lol.
Both schools seemed entirely amazing in their own ways.
