Anyone else get rejected from all the Ivies they applied to?

a school like princeton, or even dartmouth would be easier than vanderbilt to get a 4.0

i mean, im pretty sure i can pull off a great GPA, but itd be better at something like princeton.

Rejected from all one of them :stuck_out_tongue: Brown

My only rejection though, and after seeing FA packages from other schools I doubt I could have afforded it.

Probably off to Lewis & Clark on a full-tuition scholarship  kinda makes me feel inferior by CC standards haha…

Our guidance don’t understand that it’s more than GPA and SAT’s so a lot of kids here think they will get into good schools and don’t. The kid that is taking Linear Algebra this year with Ivy GPA and SAT’s and he played Varsity Football and Lax for a top school in Maryland… I still don’t think he got into Princeton. It just goes to show that it’s about being unique, not about being pro.

Denied from two (Yale, Princeton)
Waitlisted at 5 others (the rest -Harvard, since I didn’t apply there)

Rejected Yale, Dartmouth, and Penn! [Duke and NU as well]
This was just a crappy cycle for me, I suppose.
I’m hoping to get off the Notre Dame waitlist, but even if I don’t, hopefully I’ll have a good undergrad experience, even if it’s not at an Ivy. :]

one of my best friends (he’s asian) and a beast :
accepted:
Harvard
Yale
…MIT
Stanford
Columbia (rabi)
Caltech
Brown (PLME bacc/MD)
Penn (Jerome Fisher)
UCB (regents), UCLA, UCSD (jacobs)

Princeton - WL

I was rejected by Yale and Columbia. But that’s okay because I was accepted into Pomona College which is an awesome school. I’m excited!

lol
rejected Brown, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Penn, Duke, Northwestern
Waitlisted JHU, UChicago, Wash U, Dartmouth
Accepted: Vanderbilt
Academic index of 8/9 (since school does not rank it was hard to tell)
hundreds of hours of community service, worked for 4 months on essays, multiple leadership positions and lots of team awards and a few individual awards hear and there
2300+ SAT 3.9+ GPA
Asian Male from Northeast that screwed over to the max.

No. You didn’t get “screwed over to the max.” you got into one of the top 20 schools in the US and for that you should be dancing on the tops of tables and screaming woo-hoo at the top of your lungs.

Agree completely with PG. When people apply to schools with a less than 10% admission rate they need to remember that no matter HOW strong a candidate they are, they have a 90+ % chance of being denied.

Not to mention that Vanderbilt had a lower overall acceptance rate (12.02%) than both Penn (12.3%) and Cornell (15/16%?). Be proud!

Rejected by Harvard, Yale, Brown and Cornell.

Rejected from Penn and Harvard, waitlisted from Dartmouth and Princeton, and rejected from Hopkins and Duke (not Ivies but strong enough that they should be considered in this discussion) all in one night. Needless to say I didn’t attend school today.

It’s down to Emory, UVA, or Williams. (all very different, I know. Don’t get me started.)

Sorry. When you are applying to the thinnest-slice-of-elite schools in this country, and you get into ANY top 20 university or LAC, it’s a really poor attitude to complain that you didn’t do a grand sweep. You should be overjoyed with your tremendous luck and fortune. Remember, the only people who think that life appreciably sucks if you don’t go to HYPSM are either nerdy high school seniors or immigrants who are new to this country and don’t have a clue. In the real world, getting into ANY school of this caliber is a tremendous, tremendous accomplishment and you should feel delighted.

Complexity, you got into Emory, UVA, and williams and you didn’t attend school after getting rejected at a few schools? Williams is extremely competitive and so is UVA if you’re out of state. You should be very proud to have such options.

Really, some of the attitudes of denied students are disgusting.

Rejected from the entire Ivy League minus Cornell. Rejected at Duke, Northwestern, and waitlisted at Chicago.

Only got into Cornell, UC Berkeley, and UCLA. Needless to say, I also did not attend school today. Ugh.

Rejected from Harvard, Yale, UPenn and Princeton. Waitlisted at NYU. I expected as much, but it’s very disappointing when it actually happens. I was accepted to University of Richmond, U of Arizona and U of San Diego. I am PRAYING that I get into Georgetown - they were my top choice from the beginning. I find out my decision really soon. Does anyone have any advice on the three I’ve been accepted to?

Also, I live in Tucson, and if I go to Arizona, I don’t have to let them know until June. If I didn’t like the other two, would it be worth claiming my NYU waitlist spot? I don’t know how all of that works so any info on that would help.

Rejected from all my Ivies: Penn, Harvard, and Yale. I was accepted everywhere else though so I’m fine. I was upset about Penn though because I like the school and the people there so much.

Anyone IVY rejects going to vandy?

I got rejected from Harvard, Yale, UPenn, Dartmouth, and Cornell. I got waitlisted by Columbia.

I’m either going to go to NYU Stern or CMU Tepper
