Anyone else get rejected?

Yes, REJECTED, not defferred.

i don't mean to pry, but stats? haven't applied yet, so i'm afraid I can't answer that one (transfer)

I doubt many people who were rejected will take the time to post here, but sorry to hear.

About 1/3 of EA applicants were rejected.

SAT: Math 720, Verbal 730, Writing 690.
Come from a competitive high school where 1/5 of the students have over 4.0
GPA: Around 3.3uw

lespaulman,
Sorry to hear about the rejection. I sometimes think that competitive hs's don't serve their students very well. Best wishes on your other applications.

this is a fact? if so, do you have a link?

Link to what?

Talk to me in april.

andy said that 1/3 of the applicants were rejected. i dont believe that and if t is correct, i would like to see where he got that from

I second that- and I have it on good authority that I'm a very reliable source.

The admissions man said something about roughly rejecting 1/3, accepting 1/3 and deferring (you guessed it) 1/3

hmm ok. well i would like to see the numbers. i just havent heard anything. princeton and rice for example have relased their numbers for ed
why not chicago!?

..because they are filled with venom.

i knew it....

3.3 is pretty bad when 20% have a 4.0 or better.

I'm skeptical as to how "competitive" this school is. "Grade-inflated" sounds more like it. Either way, you're labeling it "competitive" and are apparently not very competitive yourself. I don't see how Chicago could accept you unless you were coming from a really top school that is known to prepare even 3.0 students for good colleges.

jpps1, he was rejected. Let it go...

It sounds like he's looking for a reason and other people are beating around the bush ("sometimes competitive hs don't serve their students well").

1/3 rejected sounds okay for early results. number is probably higher for regular

^^^^

duh

Many schools defer a high percentage of students rather than reject outright, Harvard, for example, deferred over 70% of SCEA applicants while accepting 21%. Few where rejected outright.

I HAVE a link!!!

....wow, I feel like idad.
