I’ve come to the realization that as an out of state student , Ohio state university is out of my reach economically. The financial aid office gave me a pell grant and the scarlet and gray grant and that is all. The other 34k would have to come from loans. Its really too bad, state schools are so strapped for cash right now. Just wondering if there is anyone else who was offered admission and is probably going to decline.

I think there still may be scholarship offers coming, such as the National buckeye scholarship.

I got the national buckeye and the trustee and they want me to pull a 29k loan. I’m visiting the school on the travel grant this week so maybe I can talk to them in person but as of right now It’s definitely not possible

when did you receive the information about scholarships? I definitely have the ACT Score and the grades to be eligible for the National Buckeye and was hoping for some more money, did you find out by mail?

You can check your financial aid status at the same place you checked your admission status. After you log onto the application, there is a menu choice for financial aid status.

i’m pretty sure that is only financial aid, not scholarships

no it tells you scholarships too

Sometimes, after you turn down loan money, the school may offer you more money in a different form (special grants or scholarships) if they really want you and if they can find money available.

i dont see scholarships anywhere on my ohio state portal

scholarships appear with loans and grants in the Financial Aid section. Use this Buckeye link:
