Anyone else going to NMMI?

Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who's son or daughter will be attending prep school this fall in New Mexico sponsored by MMA?

Anyone going to NMMI on the KP forum? Hellooooo out there! Kristymom, we have a NMMI candidate going into KP from our state this year. Hopefully I will get to meet them at our state's welcome aboard picnic. If I hear any good tips, I'll be sure to pass them along.

Thanks! I look forward to meeting someone out there who is headed south!

How does the NMMI prep year work, does KP have to endorse it and what is the tuition.
Thanks

maacoinc, NMMI helps students who are highly motivated to attend a service academy and are willing to devote a year to strengthen themselves academically.

http://www.nmmi.edu/prep/aboutourprogram.html

http://www.nmmi.edu/prep/usmma.html

The NMMI program develops the candidate's leadership, character, physical fitness and academics, particularly in the critical subjects of calculus, english, physics and chemistry.

There are approximately 15 NMMI candidates who presently wish to attend Kings Point.

Costs are split between the candidate, NMMI, and USMMA.

NMMI students are very successful in obtaining appointment to and graduation from USMMA.

i don't know how it's worked in past years but i do know that a lot of the nmmi people in 2010 struggled mightily this year and only about half of them are still in 2010

most of the NMMI kids i know are in the top parts of the class of 2010. there were a few that didn't do so hot, but a lot of them are doing very well for themselves here. i've foudn that most of them work really hard and have pretty good study habits.

yeah thats also true the kids that came from nmmi ended up ith a wide spectrum of grades.......some seriously are the top of our class while others aren't in our class/school
