They started sending out e-mail confirmations to accepted students on Dec 2. A couple of friends received the e-mail. All have less than 4.0 GPA. Not too sure about their SAT/ACT scores, but I know one friend didn’t even send their official score reports to the cal state yet.
I’m probably being paranoid, but I didn’t get the e-mail. I have a 4.0 GPA.
My son got his admittance email last night. 4.0 weighted GPA and a 28 ACT
D2 admitted “with distinction” on 12/2. GPA 3.95 (CSU calculated), SAT 1260/1960 (w/writing).
@byunbaek, she sent her application in on 10/1. I was surprised the decision came so quickly but perhaps timing of application has something to do with that?
I was also accepted “with distinction” as a transfer from FJC majoring in Computer Science. I applied October 1st at approx 12:05am. 3.71 GPA. The acceptance email arrived Dec 2 @ 11:53pm.
btw - what does this “accepted with distinction” actually mean? I know that a 3.5 GPA and above means you get the “with distinction” - but… aside from that - does it provide any benefit?
@ninjitsu I looked it up online and it seems to be a designation only. I’m sure there is some merit aid available for qualified residents - D2 isn’t expecting any as we are not residents of CA.
Younger son was accepted to CSUF with distinction 2 years ago. No merit aid offered but he was eligible to apply for the Honors college.
That’s good to know, @Gumbymom! I was wondering about honors college. Just checked the directions on the CSUF website and looks like she can apply as soon as her transcript is updated for 7th sem. grades. Thanks for sharing that info.
I got accepted yesterday! It was my second choice haha

SAT: 1530 (1060 CR+M)
Major: Computer Science
I got in on 12/2 with a 3.64 GPA and 25 ACT
I got in yesterday 12/8/15. 3.1 GPA, 32 ACT
I’ll be happy to go to Fullerton if I don’t get into Santa Cruz
Still waiting for CSUF Nursing…
