It's going to be interesting how things turn out, the first few months of the presidency.

^That of course brings the topic back to Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails

LOL

Ok, seriously Rush. Why would anyone hope our president fails? If he fails, we all fail. As much as I did not like Bush, there was never a time when I wanted him to fail. His failures have put us all in the ***** hole. It's so stupid. We should all rally behind Obama and give him a chance, whether you like him or not, because right now he is really our only hope.

^ couldn't have said that better myself.

I can't believe anyone would hope that our President fails.

I was listening to him back in the Clinton era. Back then I thought he was "tongue in cheek". During the impeachment though he began to sound a bit over the edge. Once "W" stepped into the spotlight though...Rush made a full running jump off the cliff of sanity.

Lest he forget that if not for liberals, our national anthem would include "god save the queen".
According to his view, those people would be dirty, crazy, god hating, blah blah...

And now...he has completely lost touch. Only those that see themselves as superior to the rest of americans by their perceived righteous indignation to all that don't see things their way, does he appear to have a scrap of sanity left. The whole "with us or against us" mentality.
The only other time that works, is in a plot line ("Only the sith deal in absolutes!")lol

Rush is simply doing to Obama what the liberals have been doing to Bush for years.
Conservatives get the double standard for sure.
Rush has a lot of wit and is very intelligent.

I don't hate Rush Limbaugh but I do hate idiots like Tom Cruise and Barbra Streisand for talking about things they don't understand- and those who don't understand policy issues tend to be liberals since it's a feel-good political philosophy. It is easier to feel good than to think hard.

I think it's wrong for Rush to say that he hopes Obama fails but yet again... the freaking double standard!!!
Liberals have been nitpicking and overexaggerating everything Bush did during his presidency. Many of them did want Bush to fail.
Especially around 2004, because that would have meant we would have had President John Kerry..

I'm guessing most of you have been spoonfed the liberal ideology and have never bothered to do research on the other side..

And what of the many poor but religious people that vote on issues (like family values) that politicians have absolutely no control over?

^, thats fine, everyone has the right to voice their opinion in the voting booth, even the liberal hollywood idealogues. The problem is when you have people like Leonardo di caprio, who have no idea what they are talking about, try to create a political movement (this happens on the right too, with people like pat robertson, both instances are wrong in my book). I personally think that limbough is a ****ing man, he is just insanely dominant. I may not agree with a lot of his politics, but he is truly the last conservative; if you actually listen to him, he is somewhat socially liberal (not one of those pseudoconservative christian wackoo's).

I agree that people on either side that are too demonstrative without showing knowledge are annoying (there's a very overtly liberal teacher at my school that my brother and I often joke about). I just didn't agree with the previous posters' argument that only liberals vote without thinking, especially since most of those "Hollywood liberals" would still lean left if they were knowledgeable. I'd be willing to bet there are a lot more lower class, social conservatives that would switch sides if they knew they would benefit (often a lot) from liberal economic policies.

There's no "double standard" until Obama can be blamed for over 1,000,000 deaths.

But most of the "poor" social conservatives are vastly opposed to a government handout, and liberal ideology in general that believes in a steep progressive tax system. To them, redistribution of wealth is socialism. Personally, I am not a fan of liberal economic policy (except for some modified keynsian policy in times like there) because it has been consistently proven wrong. Economics is a science; there is a right way and a wrong way to do things. Liberals tend to have a bad habit of mixing economics and politics, and doing what is right for their constituents, not for the country as a whole.

By outlawing non 'family-values' practices such as abortion and gay marriage, politicians have plenty of control over these matters.

I just wish Rush was a little more conservative. I like Michael Savage a lot more-

I love Michael Savage too. he is the man and tells it like it is

Aghhhhh! I can't stand Rush! He's so incredibly narrow-minded, not to mention rude! I listen to him while driving in the car just so I can laugh at him. It really ticks me off when somebody will call in with an opposing argument and regardless of how nice they go about doing it, he starts calling them names without giving them a chance to defend themselves and hangs up on them! Then he proceeds to make fun of them long after they have hung up and when someone calls in to tell him off for calling the previous caller names, he hangs up on them too! It's really similar to a dictatorship! -You dare to disagree and your time is up.

Yeah, because Rush knows what he's talking about. Give me a break. He doesn't know anymore about the issues than anybody else with Google. He isn't a politician, he is a commentator who only knows what he wants to know, and doesn't give anybody with a different opinion than his a second listen or the time of day.

And that's plain out bull about those who understand the issues being conservative. There are plenty of educated people who know just as much about the issues as those in Washington, often times more because they are the people who are affected, and still liberal.

So yes, you ARE allowed to have a brain and a heart.

Bump for the answer to the other thread.

Rush Limbaugh embodies everything that is negative about conservative America - narrow-minded and proud of it.

You people are morons if you think extreme liberalism> extreme conservatism...
Wasn't this country founded on the basis of free market... if you succeed then you succeed if you fail you fail... there should be no corporate welfare, no regular welfare... too bad so sad if you fail...

Republicans reward success and encourage people to do better whereas Democrats REWARD FAILURE! Democrats also make it seem like the wealthy are to blame for the economic problems... I find that so ridiculous because the wealthy are making this country run... I'm sorry but I just hate liberals and their "ideas"

Rush Limbaugh has the most ANNOYING VOICE on the Radio.

If he had a better voice he may be better
