So, I'm in all AP/IB courses, with the exception of one honors course. There are only two classes this year for which I do not have one (or two) corresponding AP/IB exams.

Yet, for some inexplicable (unforgivable) reason, I have six exams in school this week. And they're not even on all of the course material (that is, they're not even practice exams), just over specific units. Additionally, some of my AP/IB teachers have seen fit to assign HUGE projects--projects that will ultimately prove useless for test prep, but which will require dozens of hours.

Anyone else suffering in a similar situation? Here's a thread for all of us to complain. :P

Yeah, my German teacher decided it would be a good idea to make us write a five paragraph essay in German comparing and contrasting a famous German novel and two films based off of it. The only way this helps me is that I’ll be comparing/contrasting like in AP Comp Gov.

My AP Lang teacher also thinks that we should all continue reading short stories/essays out of our textbook despite the fact that AP exams are so close and it would be better to just practice with timed writes and MC practice (or let us study for other exams!).

My physics teacher thinks that it’s a great idea to assign us daily homework packets and weekly labs despite the fact that I won’t be going AP until next year!

Grr, I just want to get through my studying for the Gov exams. haha

Yup, same issue here. It annoys to no end that a bulk of my work is being assigned from classes like, gym. I have 2 5-paragraph essays and a project due tomorrow along with a test.

Yeah, I’m writing a paper for French right now about the Loire Valley, and it’s just taking up too much time…not only that, but since my school’s Catholic, I have Theology homework that is driving me insane because it’s pointless and I’m not even Catholic! Ugh.

Yeah. It’s sucks for me that my worst grades are in my non-AP classes, math and science.
So while I have to prep for my AP’s, I have to make sure I don’t miss any homework or quizzes so I can keep my borderline A in those classes.

Omg. i thought i was the only one with crazy teachers.
^ i must keep the borderline A too
My crazy APUSH teacher is giving two tests the week of the actual AP exam.
My crazy APLAng teacher wants to assign a novel next week.
My Latin teacher is giving a project that is worth 2 quiz grades and 3 test grades.
My orch director thinks it will be fun to have a 5 hour concert the day before one of my exams.

That’s unfortunate… I don’t know why an AP teacher wouldn’t give the exam priority when it’s only weeks away. I only have two AP classes, but my teachers are sharing in our apprehensions of the exams and are stressing greatly over our preparation. All the assignments I’m getting in APUSH have to do with the exam (reviewing all the Deals and different programs and whatnot) and a lot of our homework is reviewing all the notes and workbooks we’ve done over the year. We were also required to buy a prep book and we have to read the review sections and take practice tests. My AP English Language teacher makes us do multiple choice questions every day and an essay every week. (we only started this a few weeks ago) We’re mostly working on fine-tuning our argumentation.

I’d like to think that my teachers’ study methods are going to pay off but I feel that the classes themselves haven’t been that rigorous and I don’t really feel adequately prepared as of yet.

My AP classes are helping me to prepare fairly well. My own studying out of review books and FRQs is the most valuable by far. It’s my non-AP classes that are getting in the way and they really aren’t worth much as far as adding to my knowledge base.

i wish my teachers were like that. i have to make time to study outside of school and my teachers are hosting review sessions only after school. i’m now trying to study in my non-AP classes without getting caught.

Me Me Me: I have 5 essays: 3 is easy but 2 is full-length research papers!
And a bunch of projects…
But that is because I am self-studying…
(That’s a disadvantage of self-studying to me. You have to self-study plus regular school work!)

I’m glad to know that having teachers around the world are the same (mostly). My AP English teacher is driving me insane with all the stupid assignments that don’t relate to the AP test. I JUST WANT TO STUDY, LEAVE ME ALONE.

If I fail, it’ll because of her stupid ass thinking that she has the best intentions. I’m fine with assignments to help for the AP test, but when they’re assignments that simply use up my hours, I get so frustrated.

but as the testing dates get closer, I’m going to be blowing off a lot of my homework. I think my grades are along well enough that two weeks of “slacking” shan’t hurt them much.

I have an AP Bio test on Tuesday, an APUSH test on Wednesday (that I completely forgot about until now, dang), and a non-AP English paper due sometime in the near future.

And here’s the kicker: I haven’t started studying for ANY of my exams. The only class in which we’ve started to review is AP Calc BC…

Tell me about it. My teachers insist on giving me practice essays and other study materials while its more efficent for me to just crack open my review books. I get why teachers do it though because some in my class will never study at all

Same here lawlzs, My AP english teacher is giving her classes tons of work and so I won’t have time to study for my AP exams including her own. Also, I’m supposed to be studyng for the SAT in June and I’m stressing out.

Next week are exams.
I have an SAT to prepare for.
An AP Stat final (my teacher is leaving on maternity leave) this friday
An AP Biology 4 chapter Test
An AP English Research Paper due
An APUSH test on friday.

Don’t you just love the mentality of AP Teachers? BS through the entire year and try to cram everything in the last minute…
