anyone else nervous???

hey charlez do you know how much it is for the cable?

my parents were planning on buying me a computer that works as a tv too just to cut costs... but i'm not gonna do that if the cable's too expensive. thanks

ummmm i tried searching the pomona site but couldnt come up with a number

i seem to remember that at the begininng of the semester some guy told me it was 50$/month? somethign like that. I just knew that it was high enough that most people didnt want to pay for it unless they found some people to split the cost. and most people figured they didnt have enough time to watch that much tv anyways.

and if you plan on watching tv on ur computer, you might as well just download the stuff you want to watch.

o ummm some people have tvs in their rooms and they recieve the basic non cable channels. mostly they use the tvs for watching vhs and dvds or playing video games. you can check out a dvd player from the RA office downstairs if you need to borrow a dvd player for a few hours

I am nervous, and i think that getting on the waiting list would be a victory for me. Pomona is my first choice, i think, but thankfully the UC's have shown much love in their decisions towards me. UCLA is my number one right now, but i'm surprised that i got in, not that i'm a terrible student; i just don't see myself as a phenominal student. In addition, i see pomona as a place that only takes phenominal students. Hence the worry.

DRab, i feel the same way, except for the waitlist part, a waitlist is worthless to me... but the next 14 hours is going to be hell...

So, Pomona sent me the expected rejection. It was interesting, though, that my stats resembled some people who posted acceptances . . . but of course, there is more behind the decisions than the numbers. So now i choose between the UC's (which, surprisingly, all wanted me), Occidental, and Pitzer. I was 10/14, and happy with my choices. Time for visiting and deep thinking for me, and congrats to those of you who made the cut. Enjoy the place for those of us who did not.

dude no cable???
UCSC gets free cable... aww that sucks.
dude i would hella split 50 bucks with my roommate if my parents agreed to. i mean... it's college you gotsa have cable, especially when you're helal bored

doesn't the lounge have cable

is the campus wireless?

yes it is. check the ITS site for the locations that receive the wireless connection.

50$ a month is insane....
