Anyone Else Not Get Housing Stuff Yet? (transfers... )

I've gotten a bunch of mail from them, but nothing on housing. I really don't feel like getting stuck in some horrible housing or what not, so I'll probably give them a call tomorrow, but wanted to know if I'm the only transfer that hasn't gotten anything yet.

I've gotten some meninghetis (sp) mail, another one a few days ago on orientation, but nothing on housing.

Also, what are good spots for transfers? Or maybe just general students. I assume there are some buildings that suck and are far from everything or maybe are more run down or something. Anyway, just any general information would be great. Thanks.

Check your bing email... i'm an incoming freshman that's where my housing stuff came to, so maybe it's the same for you

go to reslife.binghamton.edu

But maybe I can some it up for you

Mountainview: one of the best dorming experiences, suite style living, beautiful dorms CLEAN, your own bathroom but far away on a mountain so very antisocial

CIW: supposedly the best dorming experience, corridor and suite style living, very social & nice

Hinman: Suites, very close to classes, and not too social but not as antisocial as mountainview

Dickinson: Very nice but boring and no suites just corridor style

Newing: The party dorm!!! for the most fun, and social people, however they are known to party and to drink so much that their academics suffer. Party 24/7 by far the most FUN & SOCIAL dorm... academically no... no suites so you are sharing a bathroom with the hallway

Susquehanna and Hillside- for upperclassmen only, you also need a certain gpa to dorm there apartments, and are very nice. However, i am not sure transfers can dorm there b/c of the gpa thing

When you do your housing you have to rank them in order of preference 1-5

I chose:

CIW, Mountainview, Hinman, Newing, and then Dickinson, in that orderrr

Hope this could be of help to you
Good luck
&& Congrats on your acceptance!!!

Thanks for the help.

I just filled out request and although you said CIW seems nice, I put it third since I really don't want to get a double. So let's hope I can get to Hinman (would like to be near classes and have suite) or if not there... then Mountainview. I'm fine with CIW if those are taken, but we'll see.

Again, thanks for the help.

omg you guys are transfers and already are choosing housing????

i'm still waiting for my decision letter to come!
=[

Really? How late did you apply? I found out not too long after I applied

I applied to the nursing school, so I'm assuming it takes longer than the usual process, but i applied back in january =</p>

i'm a first year, not a transfer

&&

good luck to you

Yay! I got Hinman. That's where I wanted.

Suit, close to class, and if you are right on it being neither super anti-social nor crazy party dorms, then that's what I want... the happy medium. And to top it all off, they have a weight room too? Awesome. I had to walk (although I usually jogged) almost a mile from my dorms at Hofstra to the weight room, it got annoying. The explaination of these dorms seem very similar in style to the dorms I stayed in at Hofstra, so think I should like 'em.

Well, let's just hope my roomates are cool and I'll be set.

Congrats! I'm still waiting on my housing stuff
