Anyone else notice...?

Hello, I'm finally posting after lurking for far too long. Anyway, I just noticed that if you download the pdf version of the CA, the instructions for the personal essay read: "Please provide a statement of 250 – 500 words that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve, and attach it to your application before submission." However, when filling out the online version, no maximum is mentioned: "Please provide a statement (250 words minimum) that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve."

I kind of want to ask the colleges to which I'm applying about this, but, at the same time, I kind of want to keep quiet about it so that I can avoid that limitation. Has anyone else noticed this? What are you going to do about it?

If you go way over 500 they will be annoyed anyway.

I’d follow the online directions. 500 words is not sufficient to express the reasons for transferring. I also recall someone on here wrote 5 single space pages (I wouldn’t recommend that either) but they were accepted into Cornell and other top schools.

Check the CA preview once you download your essay, it may cut it off if too long.

My advice is to stay pretty close to the 500 word max.
