I’m pretty sure I don’t have a special game subscription. I pay for an annual online subscription to the NYT that allows me to play all the games I care about, i.e., Crossword puzzle, Spelling Bee, and Wordle. My husband (he’s the serious chef in our family) was complaining because he pays extra for online access to recipes and cooking stuff. It’s a separate app (red with the T logo); it’s called NYT Cooking.
My subscription covers all the “extras” – Puzzles, Cooking, The Athletic, Wirecutter, etc. As far as I know, we didn’t pay extra for them, but OTOH, we get a partial paper one (weekends) and the price is pretty high, so maybe it’s all bundled together.
I’ve also decided that it’s better that I not have a games subscription. I play Spelling Bee nearly every day, staring at the letters until I come up with at least one pangram. After that I add words until it boots me off. Sometimes it’s immediate and sometimes it lets me get to a dozen or more words.
I already play wordle, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64, and nerdle (equations) and worldle (countries) That’s enough time spent on games.
I have a “basic digital subscription” and I pay for the NYT Cooking app separately. “Basic” does not include games. Maybe I need to investigate if it’s more worthwhile for me to bundle!!

My son-in-law (who is a huge geography buff) introduced me to the Worldle game–I enjoy it, but I don’t do it every day. I like that you get 5 guesses. I’ve guessed the country on the first try only once (been playing about 6 months).
Canada recently was pretty easy! I admit that I’ll go to a map sometimes after I’ve narrowed down the general area. Island nations can be especially hard to guess. I figure I’m learning even when I “cheat.”
I totally made up a word to get to QB today. Can’t believe something that obscure was counted.
Today is a good day to reach Queen Bee, if anyone is still thinking about it, as there is only one vowel (well, plus Y) and not too many words. Not like days when there are 60 or more words to find!
Was it the last T word? I finally found (made up) that one, after trying a number of other 5-letter combinations starting with T.
Yes.
Ha ha, I knew the word I think you mean; my last 2 words were extremely common ones, beginning with “fi”. I knew the “ti” word because I live on a farm
The five letter TI word was my last one yesterday too. I had to lookup the definition.
I never got that last t word. So close!
I am stuck on today’s last word. 6 letters beginning with DO. I don’t think I’m going to get it . . .
So my subscription is messed up (apparently so are a lot of people’s tonight, which they told me after i was on hold for a half an hour), and I can’t get the last two words for QB.
Seriously annoyed, but would be a lot more so if it had broken our streak for genius.
Sure hope it’s fixed by tomorrow morning.
I like spelling bee better when there are fewer words. Last night I did one with something like 244 words! It did not accept any plurals with “s.” Got tiresome.
That 6-letter P word today, good grief! I thought I made it up.
Genius again yesterday. I got all but 2 words and they stumped me - so no Queen Bee…
You’ve just started the SB? Right. I’ve been doing it daily for the last 6 months and I found that I’ve gotten much better over time.
My obsession continues! I noticed something weird today… when I checked yesterday’s answers to see which 3 words I never found the list showed 5 words not found. The additional 2 words were the last 2 I entered yesterday evening. It didn’t register them as solved. Has anyone else had this happen?
Note: The last words were entered around 8pm EDT.
