Anyone else ordering the free at-home Covid Tests?

I ordered mine the first day and received mine today!

Crickets here too….

I’m in the cricket part of the choir. Ordered 1/18. USPS confirmation email…and nada, nothing, nix.

I ordered testing kit for my mom from nj few days ago and she got it yesterday. It’s cricket from the federal government. The one I ordered for my mom is a saliva test and she wou,d need to do it in front of a medical person via zoom to be sent in to a lab, so I don’t think it’s a rapid test.

I ordered my test kits from the state of Washington a week ago. They were delivered today.

Honestly, four - one time - ‘free’ tests aren’t going to make much of a difference in our lives. Well stocked up on both Binax and CUE. The whole thing just seems like another act in a bad play…that has already been panned by the critics

I DID get an email from BlueShield giving specifics on how to claim reimbursement for up to 8 tests per month.

I have a bet with myself. … will have the BS reimbursement in the bank (and maybe even two months worth) before any ‘freebies’ magically appear in the mail.

I’ve received both the state and fed free kits. 4 boxes, 8 tests in total. It’s very hard to find the test here in the NW. In fact, I just got off the phone battling with Walmart for my never-delivered order since 1/16!

My neighbor notified me that she tested positive, was in my home recently and I may have been exposed. I had no symptoms but took the test to put my mind at ease.

Received a USPS email about 3:00 this morning, that the ordered test was expected to be delivered Tuesday. The opening said, Hello COVID Test Recipient, so I knew what it was, but didn’t know if it was mine, or my mom’s. At 8:00 this morning another email came that it was out for delivery with the same tracking number. As I have Informed Delivery, I knew this wasn’t my order, plus the area it was being delivered was the city, and I live in the suburbs.

It will be interesting to see when mine will be delivered as there were ordered at the same time.

Thought I’d check the mail before responding. We have gotten ours yet either. And I ordered the day it came out. But I’m not surprised. I figured it would come as soon as the omicron wave is over

I wouldn’t lose sleep over when they will come - they will more than likely eventually come!

Buy a couple at the store or online and when these arrive you’ll have your comfortable supply.

It’s an appreciated offer but I don’t feel like I’m owed any specific timeline - and I’m not sitting waiting for them!

I personally have what I need at home, purchasing at Costco. Now that more places are stocking the test, and insurance companies are reimbursing for the purchase, most people should be able to find test kits. I will donate the free test I receive from the government.

Yes, I ordered them. I had COVId recently and it was hard to find a home test so I like the idea of having them on hand (I didn’t really think it could be COVId but was being Uber cautious as I had a new employee starting who has a baby at home - I lucked out that Walmart got a delivery and the person who told me they were out chased me down when she found out).

Well, I am wrong and I am surprised. Shortly after my posting yesterday…I receive an email from USPS that the test kits are on the way. Should arrive today.

I’ve noticed that the Binax kits seem to be available on the Walmart site all the time now. They were consistently out of stock ( and then in stock for 3.766 minutes at a time). They are $19.99. The iHealth ones are $17.99 and tend to be out of stock more often.

I’ve gotten 6 freebies from State of Colorado (3 boxes of 2) and just got my notice at midnight that my federal box will be here by Tuesday.

I’ll order another set from Colorado too. They take about 2 weeks to get here. My sister stocked up (she’s a teacher so got on the list early) and has been able to share them with a lot of friends and relatives over Christmas.

I find it interesting that a program promising to ship within 12 days has been deemed a government failure when not delivered 10 days after it was first announced.

Interesting but not surprising.

I didn’t see any dates. Just said shipped by the end of Jan so I had no expectation of receiving them before mid February. Anything sooner is a nice surprise.

It’s a government failure because omicron arrived end of November, for weeks tests have been super scarce because the government never prioritized the manufacture and distribution of home tests and the ones they’ve been promising are finally arriving as case numbers are falling.

Hopefully they’ll still be useful for detecting the next variant.

Received the email today that mine are on the way!

I’m guessing these are available for online purchase at places like Walmart…because they have a stock they need to sell….since many folks are now NOT buying but are getting freebies from their state and the federal government.

I believe people will still purchase as there is a limited number available from state and federal. Insurance companies will now reimburse the cost of up to 8 per family member a month. I purchased two 5 packs from Costco for my husband and I, and have submitted my receipts to my insurance company. It was an easy online form, with an upload of my receipt.

Medicare is NOT covering the costs of at home tests. This needs to be changed…
