I applied to Brown but I pretty much know I have the smallest possbile chance of getting in. I’m kinda interested to see who else is with me, and how it works out for us high shooters.

I have a 2010 SAT, 31 ACT, B+ average, and I applied to Brown.

27 ACT, never took the SAT. A- average. Theatre/Environmental Studies double concentration. I have a feeling that the only way they’d let me in is if someone holding my application sneezed and it accidentally fell into the wrong pile. But hey, here’s hoping!

31 ACT, no SAT, 4.0 uw and 4.58 w. My list of ECs is what will kill me because I don’t have nearly enough though I am dedicated to theatre and spend most of my time on that. My essays are good though and my recommendations. I just don’t feel like I am noticeable among the people that have millions of ECs and perfect test scores along with 15 AP classes when my school only offers 8.

@spiritual- I’m also very dedicated to theatre (and show choir… haha i’m very midwest) and I have several other good EC’s. I’ve always been told that they look for depth, not breadth, and I definitely tried to emphasize that. Best of luck!

well, my son should be rejected…2240 SATs, but the 3.8/4.5 GPA does not put him in the top 10% of his class (and that is padded with fine arts, though these help his ECs). He’s a brilliant kid, great musician, but I don’t see it happening. I see UVA in his future…nothing to scoff at!

1920 SAT, A+ GPA, No volunteer hours but loads of extracurriculars && 3 semesters of a college class. Top 10%, 1st generation college student. I was also born and raised in the ghetto (for the first 6 years of my life), but I didn’t mention that to them(but my common app essay hinted at it a little bit).

T_T I think there’s still a slim chance, so my fingers are still crossed.

I’ve lost hope…because I’ve been waitlisted at a lot of places…34 ACT…3.87…7/572…IB and crap…handful of EC’s and a handful of community service stuff…but I’m still not even close to as outstanding as those other applicants are. :(

“I have a feeling that the only way they’d let me in is if someone holding my application sneezed and it accidentally fell into the wrong pile.”

haha this made me laugh. thats how i feel too

Sparkles21, are you my twin? I’m a theatre/show choir girl too!

But yeah, it would take a miracle to get me in. That’s okay, though, cause I got in to one of my other top choices… so whatever happens is for the best. :)

2090 SATs, 4.0 UW, 4.85 W, pretty terrible SAT II’s, not any particularly amazing extracurriculars. I don’t really have any expectation of getting in, so that should help soften the blow of this rejection…

I have a 2250 SAT and a 100+ GPA but i’ve been rejected from williams, amherst, tufts and waitlisted at pomona and wesleyan. Not expecting anything but cold hard rejection here

2060/32/4.0. Rejected at Stanford, Chicago, MIT, Tufts. Waitlisted at Carnegie Mellon. I really don’t want to go to Boston U, but it looks like that’s what I’ll be doing if I don’t get into Hopkins/Brown/Columbia/Princeton/Yale/Cornell/Penn.

2080/3.7. 1st generation/independent research/young epidemiology scholars regional finalist/graphic designer.
waitlisted/rejected at Amherst, Duke, Pomona, Carleton.
Still waiting on JHU and Brown…hoping for the best!
