I guess not many people take the SAT II Latin test, because I never see discussion on this forum. Also, I could only find one up-to-date prep book, REA SAT Latin, which seems to be pretty good.

There's bound to be some helpful advice from past SAT Latin dominators.

I'd like to take the SAT II Latin, but the school I attend only provides 2 years of Latin at this current time, and I believe that I would be more efficient at the test if my school offered 3-4 years. I think there is a possibility I might take it next year, as I am only in my freshmen year.

If you've taken either AP Latin, you'll be more than prepared. The test was mostly reading comprehension, and you didn't always need to be able to translate it 100% accurately to know the answers. There was grammar and a few derivatives when I took it. I'd review basic grammar rules (verb charts, when to use subjunctives, that sort of thing). If you are good at translating Latin text or have had a lot of practice with it, you will be fine. Have you taken the Nat'l Latin Exam? It's really similar, maybe a little harder, but without the NLE's culture and mythology questions.

I am in Latin I and every year and will have to take the National Latin Exam, does that mean that I would be prepared for the Latin SAT II? I think I would need more but who knows.

I got a gold medal on the latin iii nle in the 9th grade, but I have had to seriously review forms and vocabulary in order to take it on dec 2. I really don't know how I will do.
