Anyone else slack in a long list of extracirriculars?

How many others are there, who totally slack in almost all of their extracirriculars? As in you do the minimum work required, you're no place close to being the best at what you are, and the main reason you're still doing it is because it'd look good on your college resume. Recently, I've been having more and more guilt about it. Thankfully, I'm a senior and this crap'll probably end soon.

yeah, i know what you mean. I'm sort of in that situation. I only have a couple ECs and I mostly only do them because I need them for college. I've just never really enjoyed ECs.

Eh, whatever. I hope gaming and CC counts as an EC.

I hope Wikipedia does.

But actually, I have a moderate amount of ECs, and I'm pretty involved in each of them, mostly because I actually like them/

^ I have one account with about 2000 edits and about 25 that have been banned due to vandalism.

Well, to be clear, I did start off doing ECs I really wanted. As time went on, I started losing interest in them though. Really, I think HS is a good time to explore things, but it's hard when adcoms expect you to do something for a long time to show commitment in it. If the college process wasn't as messed up as it was, I would have quit (it's something I've been doing for the last 7 years, WAY before the "I-have-to-get-into-college" thing), and tried something new. I'm just trying to not **** off people in my ECs too much. Oh well, only a couple more months to go, before I'll be done with this stuff.

I remember your previous thread, and I consider ECs a great way to make friends, but only if you're devoted to them. High school is designed to explore, but you should have some knowledge of what you want to do. If you don't, then try figuring out.

I haven't done ANY EC's yet, other than gaming and sleeping. I'll probably do some that I like starting this year...I didn't even know EC's existed until I came here.

Mostly I stick to ECs I really care about and do as much as I can in them...but I was on the yearbook committee this year and I didn't do jack. Sold a few ads in October, went to a couple of meetings, and that's pretty much it. I thought I'd be more into it than I was, I guess- they only let seniors work on the yearbook, so I didn't get to try it out in junior year (or earlier) and see if it was something I liked.

I don't have that many ECs, only 5 or 6 ECs total, none of which are HUGE time commitments. I just don't see how CCers dedicate so much time to ECs, it's not humanly possible at my school.

All of my ECs I did because I wanted to.
Except National Honor Society. That was the lamest joke of my life.
