Hey, I talked to Mr. Berg yesterday (I am a perspective student visiting), and he said he admitted 26 (out of 800) hoping to yield a class of 20. I asked if there is a waitlist, and he said no. Because last year's class is so big (21), he is trying to keep 2012 smaller. Hopes this helps!

Hopefully, then, if he is done with the total offers, he will inform the ones that still have not heard so that they can move on. That's where the confusion lies since some have yet to hear.

I don't understand how last year's class is considered "so big" at 21 students. In the past, hasn't the freshman class usually been about 20? I know it dwindles after freshmen year with cuts and people leaving but I am just talking about the number who enter as first year students each year. I was under the impression that about 20 come each year as freshmen. Therefore, 21 doesn't sound so out of the norm for their freshmen class.

Anyone who still hasn't heard could appropriately call CCM and ask if all offers of admission have been sent out, as well as when they should expect a response about their candidacy.

pcassedy: thank you for your insights. have you heard from the other five accepted candidates that are not reflected on the 21 member accepted class of 2012 on facebook? I am assuming if Mr. Berg said he admitted 26 that would mean he has emailed all 26. And if he has no waitlist, then why has my d not heard anything? so strange....as soozievt aptly mentioned not everyone goes on facebook so that could explain the 5 missing candidates. Or could it be that those remaining handful he just sent out letters of acceptances recently? I know I am holding out hope for my d but until we hear I suppose anything can happen. Slim as that hope is starting to feel. Good luck Pcassedy you should feel very proud of your accomplishments.

"So big:" The graduating class is 14 or 15. All others follow suit. I just know that the freshman complain about their class being so big because it's hard for them to fit in a straight line accross the stage. Of course, this is before cuts, keep in mind...though I think only 1 or 2 are asked to leave.

2008 didn't have any cuts. I hope you hear soon, waiting really is the hardest part!

Yes, I know the graduating class is smaller than the freshmen classes at CCM.

My point is that you said last year's freshmen class was 21 and it was "so big" but actually that is a pretty typical freshmen class at CCM...I believe the first years typically number about 20. And then Mr. Berg said he is hoping to yield 20 this year for the new class and so I don't quite understand how much bigger 21 is than 20.

unmekidd, I am still waiting too! I wish I would hear something!

Isn't it so hard...the wait. It's nice to hear from you. My d knows one other girl that is in the same boat as you ladies. Do you mind me asking when you auditioned? What do you make of everything? I am wishing for the best for all of you.
