<p>I applied around NOvember 18th i believe for schuylkill and hazleton. My GPA is really low, but I explained the circumstances I was living under that has affected my academic conduct. Oh yea, I checked today and it says they made a decision on 1/6. How soon should I expect it? Like, next week maybe? (today is the seventh and I'm in NYC.)</p>

<p>I'm in PA, and i'm really shocked it came in only a couple days. I bet you'll get summer session because it seems everyone in this batch is getting that.</p>
<p>I didn't check summer - I have to work summers to afford. Did you check an alternate campus for fall?</p>

<p>you guys are so excited...I'm feeling a little strange. I was asked to apply to psu up and did..got in early..like nov 17...but never really saw the campus or knew what it was all about. Went for a visit in Dec. very cool...spent the night with a friends sister at a chrismika party...had a blast. My heart was always with JMU...got the letter today that I'm in :/ now what? Big school with international reputation or mid-sized with big reputation in my major (physicians assistant program) omg.....help!</p>
<p>PSU>JMU. of course, my opinion is probably biased...</p>
<p>Hopeful - here are some things to think about if you're really committed to the PA program - is the time to graduation is your specialty longer at one school or another? If you need to go to grad school, what is the counselling and placement process like at the 2 schools - what kind of advisor will you have? do you want to do research - if yes - is one school better than the other? if you decide you want to go beyond PA and go for MD - is one school better than the other? if there's no grad school involved, what kind of job placement connections do the two schools have? since UP is closer to home than JMU, is that an advantage? If you want to return to NJ for work after graduation, does PSU have better placement rates in your area? </p>
<p>I have wanted to go to UMCP and be a dentist for as long as I can remember- but since UMCP admission is prob not a happening thing - I am dying to go to PSU where I know I can get a great education - what if you change your mind along the way and want to change your target profession - which school will have the most options and flexability and value if that happens?</p>
<p>Geeze - I hope when the mail comes tomorrow, I can put my head down and really sleep soundly tomorrow night cause I got my acceptance - but I know that the decision you face now is a really tough one that will prob keep yo uup a few nights. In the end - either decision will be right - and you will be going to a great school! GGT</p>
<p>GGT...Thanks. Alot of good advice. You're making me realize that this might be an easier decision when I address the concerns you bring up. Well if my decision is PSU I hope to meet you on campus...let us know when you hear.

We're still keeping our fingers crossed tho - from my recollection jerseyshoregirl, psu2010, ericg and parikhs should make it based ontheir numbers - just a matter of getting their mail"men" to do their job! Soooooooo excited! I'm reading the housing stuff now and need to look back over some of the old posts on housing.</p>
