Anyone Else TOO in Love with Their Dream School??

Hi, i’m pastelrain and I’m way too in love with RISD.

I feel like if I don’t get in, I’m going to be super disappointed and just really, extremely sad for a while. I wish I didn’t idolize the school so much, but I can’t help it, it’s where I truly want to be, but I know there’s a big chance I won’t get in.

Does anyone else feel this way with their respective dream schools? I have to wait until the end of March for RISD decisions to come out, it’s honestly been keeping me up at night. Ahhhhhh.

Hi. I’m a parent. Oh it stinks having to wait so long before you know! I really hope you get into RISD, but I saw you got into SCAD and that’s really impressive. So I bet you have a really strong chance with RISD. And if it doesn’t work out, Savannah is a really nice town and you’ll get a great education there. Best of luck to you!

@melvin123 thank you! I don’t think I’ll end up going to SCAD if I don’t get into RISD (I think most likely Ringling or MICA), but thank you for the kind words!!

have you decided where you are going yet?

My dream school is the University of Washington. However, being someone that lives across the country, the school is a) Pretty difficult to get into, and b) Very expensive (50k+ a year). That being said, if I get into UW and get an amazing scholarship, I may say that I’ll want to go there. However, there may be other colleges out there that I’d love to go to even more. Considering I’m only a junior, I have a year to decide where I’m going to, so even though I may love UW now, I may lean away from it when I make my decision.

Don’t get too dreamy about a dream school unless you know you can afford it.

Update: Did not get into RISD, but that’s okay! I’m committed to Ringling College of Art and Design, which was my second choice from the start

@pastelrain Congrats! Have a good time!

Have a good day!
