Anyone else use a lot of "Additional Info/Explanation" space?

I had some extracurriculars that didn't fit, and my counselor suggested I explain how I estimated my work hours/community service hours there, and also put in what languages I'm fluent in and some summer programs I did. Is this bad?

I think that's fine.
I'm sending in a resume with basically the stuff you mentioned on it, and I know a lot of people do that. It seems to me entering it into "additional info" would be looked at similarly.

Personally, I used the additional info section to enter some things that my counselor never discussed in her rec (because she doesn't know anything), like the fact that honors classes at my school are denoted by an "X" after the class title and a certain class code indicates a dual enrollment/college course.

So i think the section can be used for any number of things.

I used it to overflow my other secondary schools.

I used it to tell them to look at my resume which is mailed with my school stuff. I can't format tables in the common app and that's the only way I could have made it as organized as I wanted to.

Do we mail resumes separately?
and also, what can we put in the scholastic honors section? can we put specific awards like language awards or college book awards? or is that more of a resume thing?

Normally, the additional info page is if you had a major injury, illness, family tragedy. In some case you can list awards if the online app does not have enough room. There is no need to explain how you came up with hours.

can someone answer my questions? sorry:

arghhhhh why does the deadline have to be so close to halloween?
