I got waitlisted from LAS just now... this was my top choice but I knew it was a high reach. still kinda sad about it tho. Anyone else waitlisted? wanna vent?

Also how do you accept the offer? I don't see an option that says to do that.

I had a 79.8 average and a my SATS superscored was a 1980 total
R M W
680 640 660

Apparently about a 3rd of the kids are accepted from the waitlist. theres still a chance! hate that that happens in may/june

I’d like to know how to accept the offer as well… are you sure they don’t accept people earlier? There are other colleges… ><

Also, my friend applied… she has a higher average and SAT score than me. I bet she got in >< Ugh. Happy for her, but it’s a bit of a smack in the face for me. Oh well. I was honestly expecting an acceptance or rejection, I never even considered being wait listed. Nice surprise!

Anyway, i figured it out when you click the link next to “Accept yourr waitlist offer”, and go to that FAQ page, one of the paragraphs will have a link you can click on that says “accept your waitlsit offer.” but ive been trying to log in and it has been having some website error

with your stats i’m sure you’ll find an amazing even better place than illinois, but i feel u

I’ve noticed the people who were accepted had higher grades than mine, more APs and probably better ECs. I saw one person with similar stats, but their ECs seemed more impressive. Idk. Well, there’s always Purdue… (which isn’t a bad thing)

I have no idea what my “UIN” is.

I honestly doubt I’ll find a better place than Illinois, my list has such competitive schools that I considered Illinois my most likely match, and even a reach at that. Oh well. Hopefully I do though! Ya never know. Good luck!

i just figured it out, you just gotta click the thing on the form that says “forgot UIN or admitID,” UIN will be the numbers on the top and the AdmitID will be the code with letters and numbers below.

also, very important factor i have yet to ask, did you apply to engineering? cause thats a very big factor. i would not be surprised if this year a lot of seriously high stat - people applied to engineering, illinois is getting more recognized/“prestigious”

:( goodluck! a 94 average is very impressive, give yourself more credit! if it helps, you honestly look like the perfect candidate to be accepted off the waitlist. a lot of people with crazy stats that got admitted over you are probably going to pick different schools, thus there will be more room to accept someone like you with stats in my opinion more than deserving acceptance

And I didn’t- I actually applied for Biochemistry at LAS.

And yeah, but it sucks if they take me off after May… fortunately, my super amazing and supportive father said to accept the wait list offer, and even if we waste money on a deposit at another school, the benefits of a better future will outweigh the current losses. Love him. I feel so bad though… just applying to college has cost nearly $1000 so far. And I plan on reapplying next year (doubt I’ll get into my dream schools, so…)

Hey good luck guys! I got “accepted” but not my my major, so hopefully my spot will help you out! I believe we have to accept an “offer” in 2 weeks, so maybe that’s one of the first shots you have!

brinazarski, hey. UIN is your number that you will see on your admission letter. I also saw it on my accepted checklist. Mine goes 67******* so 9 digits… Hope this helps!

I just want to let you all know that being waitlisted is not the end of the world. Many people who were waitlisted last year ended up getting in. Myself included. It seems like LAS and DGS students are commonly waitlisted, based on what I saw last year. Many people from both colleges were accepted last time, so look into other schools but don’t give up on this one!

I applied to LAS and was wait listed as well. I honestly was expecting an accepted letter…I thought I was competitive enough. I guess not/: I accepted the offer and am still holding out tho.

I have just one question. How does housing work with the wait list? Like how do apply for housing when the housing deadline is like May but u don’t find out if you we’re accepted until June?

They let you apply for Housing and give you a deadline that is in like the middle of June. The downside is you have last choice for Housing space. LLCs usually have lots of open spots, though.

@hihi82, many people were notified in May. I was notified exactly on June 1st. If I recall, many LAS students were admitted in May and DGS was exactly June 1.
