(I meant to do ED, but...) Oh well it's still my top choice. Anyone else going to apply for transfer fall of '10? Going to start preparing...like now....for that...(also does anyone know if you can retake standardized tests (like if i wanted to take it in August of this year)....thanks..

I guess you can…retake the SAT’s again or whatever…but august maybe too late since you’ll be registered under college. You might consider taking the June tests. Also I hope to transfer as well but how do you start preparing like now? Most of it counts on the grades doesn’t it?

As a Columbia student, my honest advice is to give your new school a shot. You might end up liking and fitting it very well. Then transferring is both a pain and a risk, so don’t bother too much right now. If you go to your school and really dislike it, then push to get into C.

You cannot take act or SAT if you’re enrolled in college?! and yeah I’m gonna give it a shot I guess, but it’s like 15 min away, and I’ve heard about it/seen it. It’s a good school, but just not my type of campus environment. I like the hustle bustle of the experienced filled jungle that I lived in for two years, NYC, + I’ve read ALOT on columbia, and there’s nothing I don’t like , hah.

–oh when I said preparing now, I meant keep my senior grades up as usual, look for something to do during summer that’d I’d like to do…start looking at classes to take that would benefit me by possibly being pre-reqs to a possible sophomore year at Columbia. I’ll also probably study some during the summer for a (hopefully fall SAT since I graduate on the June SAT day)…

You can take the SAT whenever you please, as long as you pay them the $50.

I agree with confidentialcoll to give your university (wherever you end up) a fair shot. I know that you have to prepare transfer admissions in the late fall of 2009 in order to transfer for fall of 2010, but transferring into CC is much harder than getting in from high school, and you should be prepared to stay at your home university for longer than you expected. Make the best of it and enjoy yourself.

Oh yes , I definitely don’t hate the school or anything, I’m just like why not still apply to my first choice. :D, Ok thanks for the SAT info. Anyone know if it’s easier to transfer to cc or seas? applied math is major so it shouldn’t matter which one I go to? Also how does the core work? Will I be in all the freshman core classes or will I have to “overload” ?
