<p>I don’t think that’s a big reach because there’s really not much “business” in business econ. Also UCSB doesn’t really read essays. </p>
<p>My ex wrote her essay specifically about political science and got in as rhetoric at UCB (which does look at essays).</p>
<p>Rhetoric is only offered at Berkeley, so they might have made an exception.</p>
<p>I wrote my essay about geophysics, and was accepted into civil engineering at Davis.</p>
<p>my essay was all about middle eastern studies - i got into SD with sociology, irvine with psychology, and davis with organizational studies. i know i am random.</p>
<p>wrote about law (for legal studies at UCB) but got into UCLA political science</p>

<p>then go on and on about how you feel german studies is your life purpose. XD</p>

<p>@wwlink - German studies is a respectable major, and Cal’s got the #1 department for it.</p>
<p>I mean, I may end up jobless, but at least I’ll have read Shiller, Goethe and Nitsche! ;-)</p>
