anyone else?

anyone else feel incredibly nervous and anxious.

hope we get in.

=

me here (10 char)

Already got rejected from UCLA, waitlisted from Wustl

All my hopes are gone...

merumerume, don't give up yet. Different colleges make different decisions. Last year, there was a supplement in the New York Times that focused on eight students from my county who were applying to college. One guy did not have a good class rank, scored pretty low on his SATs (I don't think he broke 1200 on the old SATs,) and didn't have spectacular extracurriculars. He was rejected from every college he applied to (Boston University, NYU, Wesleyan, and some others,) except for one: Dartmouth. Don't give up yet.

That being said, I'm still nervous. Tensions are running high here at my school. One really competitive guy in my grade was deferred ED--he joked that he would "kill" me if I got in, and he didn't. And what was his reaction when I said that I probably wouldn't get in? "Good." Yes, stress is definitely high.

Achoo do you have a link to thar article or something? I think I'll need to look at that for inspiration. I was rejected from CUNY Honors but a likely letter from NYU. I'm sooo nervous. I sent Dartmouth a completely a different essay than I sent my other colleges and everyone tells me that the Dartmouth essay is better. :( I hope they're right.

My new obsession with CC doesn't help much either considering how most of the students on here are amazing. I remember the first time I came on here and started browsing- I almost wanted to cry because I thought I wasn't going to get in anywhere.

At this point, I'm still stressing but I'm kind of just trying to focus my thoughts elsewhere. Less than two weeks now.

Good luck to everyone! Don't give up hope! (I didn't apply to Dartmouth, haha)

Bre JL, I also got a likely letter from NYU. I just found out that I was also waitlisted by WashU (wow, a lot of us got similar college admission decisions,) but I'm not too surprised since I didn't express much of an interest, (I didn't even visit.) Interest plays a big part there since its a sufferer of the Tufts syndrome.

Anyway, after some searching, I found the link to the article: http://select.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F50C10FC3B5A0C748DDDAD0894DD404482 . Bad part? You have to pay. I think that I'll be able to copy and paste the article here, but I'll need my dad's ID and password. (He's asleep right now.) I'll try to get it on here as soon as I can.

EDIT: I got it! I'm pasting the important part:
"Mr. Ordo

See, stories like that makes me feel just a tad bit better. Just a little though. ::sighs::

oh wow
thats awesome

only 12 more days!

those Chappaquatians tend not to pump their own gas although many are self-serving,..

That story seriously gives me hope, thanks achoo.

here's hope for you

i got into dartmouth but was rejected from tufts, chicago (early, too), rice, and boston college. have fun, kids...

stats solo :P ?

ooh this was a long long time ago

classrank outside top 30% and a GPA that barely cracked 3.2 when rounded up generously
but high SATs and decent APs, i think good recommendations, a quirky essay.... mediocre community service and run-of-the-mill extra curriculars. i think i pushed for a math angle, and i got it--got a letter from the math department along with my acceptance. alas, i did not take a single math course at Dartmouth.

lol nice...

but anyways, BC kicked my ass. you have no idea when that rejection came, how freakin scared i was. i had literally resigned myself to not going to college that year.

Aww that sucks that you had to go through that solo at least you were accepted into Dartmouth :)

as in, don't give up hope. who knows, maybe an admissions officer will sneeze and your application file might fly over from "rejected" to "accepted with a sweet financial aid package"
