Anyone else?

Does anyone else think this school is totally awesome? :)

hahaha...i second that

what's it's average SAT score?? will i get in with a 2200?!!?!

hahaha I think you have a shot, but it's kind of a stretch..a 2200 is pretty mediocre ;) --actually, this kid I talked to when I visited last week said he had a 1.7 GPA but called every week to talk to the admissions people and he got in..

aww gee, well thanks a lot leah...i've found my dream school!

Are you a communist??!!

lol, because that's kind of a prerequisite.

wait...for real??? scratch WWC off the list

Honey, Warren Wilson is essentially a commune. If you're conservative in any way I would recommend somewhere else.

My friend Meg's heading down there next fall and she's a capitalist, so I wouldn't take that literally. But yeah, Republicans probably need not apply.

Social conservatives more, though.

This school is amazing. It would be my top choice if it weren't so far away.
:[

"This school is amazing. It would be my top choice if it weren't so far away."

Haha, word. You're talking to a Bostonian here--I completely sympathize.

my best friend is going there...and we live in az...thats pretty far.

The campus is stunningly beautiful.
Seriously breathtaking--pristine.

if anyone could tell me more about the school i would love to relay it on to mt friend.

Anything about food, stuff to do, local things...anything
she loves environmental sciences and all that jazz

I'm an intel.
Major Undecided but leaning towards English and music.
SAT Reasoning CR 570 M 670 W 610
TOEFL 267 CBT
GPA 2.8
Graduated HS in 2004. Been working in the broadcast and film industry ever since.
1 decent recommendation from HS teacher.
2 good recs from work.
Not many ECs.
I play guitar, bass, piano, mouth organ and percussion. No certification though.
Do you think I have a shot?
I'm applying here, eckerd and evergreen state college.

Do a lot of intels go here or to the abovementioned colleges?

Warren Wilson isn't actually my top choice, but there's no way my parents are paying for Reed or Oberlin.

Would it be an advantage for getting in that I'm an Asian-American male?

I think if you can get into Reed you can get into WWC

Asian-American male helping - who knows? Are your grades and SAT's in the toilet?

I've really fallen in love with Warren Wilson. At this point, it's one of those only colleges I could ever see myself attending. I'm visiting it this month and I'm so so so excited. I've never even visited below the Mason Dixon line, so that should be cool too.

I'm taking the SATs in a couple weeks, so I'm not sure what I'll be getting but on the PSATs I got a 500 in math (=[ math is really hard for me), a 690 in critcal reading and a 700 in writing. I have a 3.0 gpa and I'm involved in 2 clubs and 1 sport each year. I also volunteer for an environmental group, cleaning up beaches and dune grass and stuff like that. Are my chances alright for getting in? My high school transcript isn't that stellar, but I'm trying to raise it now that I've actually found such a great school.

The thought of getting rejected from wwc is terrible =[

anyone out their FROM warren wilson college??

I'd love to hear about it from someone who goes there

Also - I got admitted early to University of Vermont - does this say anything about whether or not I have a chance of getting into Warren Wilson? Is WWC more selective? Less?

Does anyone know how good their financial aid is?

My daughter is a junior ----

I would say if you can get into UVM from Conn. then you can get into WWC.
very different school that UVM though.

I think their financial aide is pretty good. She gets a nice grant every year.

this is how my daughter felt. The only school she applied to and she had SAT's over 1400. It just was what she wanted and she is happy.

Do a good job on your interview - I think you have a good shot.
Understand the triad - academics, work and service.
