Anyone else?

My best friend is just finishing up her first semester there and she absolutely loves it! She loves the atmosphere of the campus and the people there. You have to be the right type of person to go there. Very open-minded and in love with nature and things like that. Personally, it wouldn't be the school for me, but knowing her, it is absolutely perfect.

At night, they go to the cow pasture and hang out! She works in the chemistry as her work, not particularly her favorite, but it doesn't get her down. If you are looking for a very environmentally-friendly, close-knit type of college experience, you will definitely find it there.

I think if you don't absolutlely love WWC you are not going to be happy at all there.

The kids that go there tend to be well - different. Passionate about the environment and social causes. Very liberal. They also come from all over - not many from NC really.
You must understand the work requirements. You may not get the job you like as a freshman but your options grow.
The crew options vary widely and many kids learn useful skills.

Check out the World Wide program - most kids go travel abroad. Usually during break but some go for a semester. My d is going to London for two weeks after Christmas. It is only costing her airfare - the rest is built into tuition.

Thanks JustAMomOf4, it's good to hear how Warren Wilson ACTUALLY is, instead of only speculation from potential students.

Ahhh, WWC sounds so great. I'm visiting this January.

Good luck in your visit - feel free to PM me with any questions.

You are right - there is the REAL WWC and the Stereotyped WWC!
We tend to joke about the extremes but seriously if you actually wear shoes you can still fit in - lol.

Understand - you do have a Service requirement and you will WORK. It seems that every year some freshmen show up not realizing work is mandatory.
