Man, I can't believe it's only a month until I will be living up at Berkeley!

I had such a wonderful high school experience and life here. I feel like it's time to go though.
I am just tired of everything around here. I've grown up in the same city my whole life and I'm ready to leave.

Anyone else feel the same? What are you looking forward to at Cal?

It’s unfortunate you think Berkeley is horrendous haha.

Everyone from my high school who has attended Berkeley can’t wait to go back. They are counting down the days till they can be back in “b-town”. I guess it all depends on the individual and what you make of it.

can’t wait!
I’m a transfer and I’ve been taking summer there, commuting twice a week. Berkeley definitely has its own character & people are nice. I wouldn’t mind if the city were a little cleaned up though but I’m totally excited as well.

true, but Berkeley **is **horrendous. I like it here, but you won’t find another top school that’s at our caliber and in such a sh itty location.

Don’t listen to those that tell you that, any school can be horrendous as you said especially since people just love to blame their problems on others, makes them feel better.

I think if one takes a trip to the really poor areas of Oakland, they will have a different view of Berkeley. Sure, it is an urban environment but it looks Rodeo Drive compared to some areas of Oakland!

Hey guys! I’m not sure if anyone of you guys still check back on here, but here I am a year later and I can’t wait to go back to Berkeley! I love it!

Aww, that’s awesome that you came back and can still say you loved the experience I’m gonna a freshman moving into Berkeley in just a few weeks and I’m feeling just like you did; I loved Berkeley at CalSO, I’m kinda tired of the people here back home, and I just really wanna start this new college experience!

PS: I hope I don’t come back a year later hating everything about the place, lol

Ha. I will say Berkeley is what you make of it. I just happened to get the best room-mates and friends anyone could ask for. I’m actually living with my same room mates again this year in an apartment!

Just wait until you start living here (as in going home only once a year) and then you’ll appreciate your home a lot more. It’s so dirty here that it’s nice to just go home and realize you don’t have to deal with hobos ****ing in the streets/in public and cussing people off/young “hobos” bothering you for change/leftovers, etc.

Don’t get me wrong. The school campus is completely different. The city itself is pretty ****. Nightlife here is about six feet deeper than a buried body. (inb4"but there’s p-p-parties! at frats!")

yeeeupppp, i’m from la and i’m sooooooo stoked to be living and going to school at berkeley. besides from the couple times some friends have said they wanted to kill themselves over the their studies, they’ve told me berkeley was one of the best thing to ever happen to them. i seriously have only met awesome characters from berkeley and what a better place to grow as an individual than berkeley.

let alone, san francisco is literally right there!

Haha, don’t hate on Oakland now! All the hipsters moving in seem to find something they like about it. My favorite taco truck is taken over by them during lunch time.

Berkeley is just depressing sometimes, especially on those dark rainy nights in the Winter and early Spring. The terrible weather combined with the hard classes just makes this place unbearable at times. However, the people you meet are super cool and they will get you through the tough times I understand that most freshmen are anxious and excited at this point of the year. But I predict that you’re excitement will die out 1 month into the semester, after your first midterm, lol
