Poor, 1st generation college</p>
<p>Has anyone ever got in with anywhere close to these stats?</p>
<p>I have a cousin who was admitted OOS to UCLA with a 3.9UW GPA and ~1200 SAT. I believe it was his essay that got him in and his extenuating circumstances that involved being raised in a one-parent household and encountering significant obstacles. He did APs, and had pretty average ECs.</p>
<p>Well i got in last year with relatively low stats, but decided to go to community college instead.</p>

<p>wow... i'm having second thoughts... I think that getting accepted at UCLA is one thing... passing your classes there is another... I think i'm gonna focus on colleges where I have a shot at earning a degree. Thanks for the info though guys :-)</p>
