has anyone here gone to college without passing a NYS regents, with the local diploma, instead of the regents diploma?

I thought you had to pass the regents in order to graduate from high school. That’s how it is at my school…

We just get advanced regents diploma and such by our grades, but we all have to pass.

Can you just get the GED?

How about GED? You can get that and then college

I thought it was the local diploma,
“Students in the graduating class of 2010 must score a minimum of 65 on 3 of the 5 required regents exams and score a minimum of 55 on the other 2 required regents exams for a local diploma.” - [Diploma/Graduation Requirements](http://www.chappaqua.k12.ny.us/hg/hgweb/gweb5/Decisions0708/grad.html)
But anyways, what’s a GED? and what effect, if any, would it have on me if i get a local diploma/GED rather than a regular regents diploma?

Where do you want to go to college? What are your career plans?

i’m going to a suny, but why is this relevant?

Which SUNY?

Which Regents Exam do you not expect to pass?

Does your GC say you’ll graduate even if you don’t pass the particular Regents exam you’re talking about?
