Anyone ever gotten one of these?

You know how when you run a red light, the cameras in the intersection take pictures? I was trying to make it through the light before it turned red real quick and it wasn't even that busy of an intersection at all, and the cameras were installed in the intersection. So of course I get caught with it and now I am wondering whether I will really get charged for anything. I know people have gotten those tickets in the mail before but have never done anything about it and they were never notified any further about it. Of course, knowing me and how I get caught as soon as I try to risk something, I will get in trouble right away. But still, I've heard some people who just totally neglected to pay them and they never got in more trouble. Anyone had this experience?

the camera takes two pictures a split second apart and needs both to record your license plate number. if you go fast enough, over 167 i believe (maybe 187), you are gone by the second picture. so just go faster next time.

oh yeah, thats a great thing to tell someone, go 167 mph, and you'll be fine. i mean of course going that rate thru a red light wouldn't cause possible car crashes and deaths...

sorry if you were sarcastic, wasn't sure.

The funny thing is that I'm sure nactor is right. If you went fast enough it would just be a big blur on the pictures, lol.

yeah he probably is right, but still.... it makes more sense to just slow down at yellow, and not risk the ticket in the first place.

Nactor was definately being sarcastic there.

I don't even think most cars can go at those speeds.

i was sarcastic, but it is true. they did a study on it with a race car and a private track.

well, to me yellow means speed through the light before it turns red...not slow down lol...

^ Amen, lol. Screw waiting five minutes for nothing.

I run through reds all the time (meaning, once every two weeks or so) including once today.

I never got a ticket.

you just jinxed yourself....slow down if it's yellow when you get there....speed up if you saw it turn yellow and you think you can make it :)

I usually speed thru the yellows just as they turn red, then get yelled at by my mom or dad (sigh, i've only got a permit... till july) for not stopping.

how could ANYBODY miss nactors sarcasm???

And whenever I drive into SF, people run reds on every light. it just turns yellow and people keep going. basically their philosophy is, if you're in the intersection when it was yellow, you are fine.

ahhh the joys of driving in NY. we deal with this all the time. screw the yellow light, that means speed like crazy to us.
