Anyone ever successfully transferred from Cal to UCLA?

I'm really depressed that I picked Cal over Ucla and I'm trying to plan out courses so i can find a major and still apply for transfer to ucla after two years (i'm going to be a freshman in the fall). Anyone out there who was in my situation and made it to ucla?

my first year roommate did the opposite after freshman year.

does he/she have a CC account so i could ask him/her questions about it? After freshman year? I definitely would like to talk to him/her about that.

to clarify: by CC i meant college confidential.

No. You Just Can't Do It. It's Impossible.

ihasamilk, what makes you say that? are you currently at ucla?

ihasamilk==troll!

gobama, why do you want to transfer? Will you be a freshmen this Fall? Just wondering.

Fisico: b/c picking between ucla and cal was a VERY VERY VERY hard decision. in the end i gave in to all the hype about Cal, but now i realize that socal and UCLA is what I wanted more than anything, and i really thought i deserved the perfect college after what i went through in high school (stupid IB and valedictorian <- not the best combo) Yeah, i'll be a freshman at cal this fall.

Don't worry about it, you haven't even gotten there yet. College is so different from everything you think, it's not even funny. Give Cal an honest shot, and chances are you'll fall in love with it.

Can't you call UCLA admissions and say "Hey I ****ed up...PLEASE take me back!!!" Or something like that.

I agree. However, UCLA is different from Cal. UCLA just seem more relaxed. Weather and surrounding area can also add to the decision. Hell, Cal doesn't have a decent grocery store near by like Ralph's. And the crazy homeless/bums/beggers, ***?

I do like Cal's campus a bit more than UCLA's. Cory Hall is nicer than Boelter Hall. Also, I prefer Berkeley's weather over SoCal. But that's just me.

Anyway, gobama, you have two options:

Go to a CC and then transfer

Go to Cal do well and then transfer.

IMO, option 1 would be easier in terms of getting good grades and transferring. Option 2 is not impossible, however. Who knows, Cal may turn out to be a great fit.

i don't think i can do that anymore (call them and ask). why? should I?

Well you won't know until you try!

Why? Because you're the one that wants to come to UCLA! Geez.

Should you? I would. The worst that can happen is that they say no. Even if they say no, BEG! Make your case heard. At least you won't have any doubts.

fisico: i did shortly after i canceled the SIR and they said no, and i think i talked to someone high up, so i'm worried that if i ask again they'll be mad at me and it'll hurt my chances for transferring in two years. Still think i should?

More townie beggars in WW which is pretty annoying um yeah some guy with a top hat always talking to himself............. esp on Broxton + LeConte.

They won't keep it in some file if you keep calling.

rofl you can't switch once you've signed the SIR for CAL...

basically you just need to accept your fate and if it really is that bad after 1 year...then transfer

oh and keep your grades up

wow, you make one joke and you are labeled a troll. how welcoming.

it was a really bad joke.

:( i'm sorry. i won't do it again.

Hey guys, I have a related question:
Is it easy to transfer from a CC to Cal or UCLA Junior year? Assuming I go to a well known feeder CC and get good grades. I already got into UCLA but I think that in my current circumstances, a CC would be more affordable.
