The first eragon book and swordbird bored me, I didn’t finish either on the first read. but as they got older, their writings improved.

plot bunny? never heard of it @.@

Haha, a “plot bunny”'s basically an idea for a story that you have, but often fail to put it into action lol. :P

I’ve gotten some poetry pieces published, one was telling a story in poem form… that’s all really.

Yeah, working on a fantasy epic at the moment.

And no, it’s not high fantasy. I’ve had enough swords and dragons to last a lifetime.

Paolini is a joke…I’ve read the series, and almost thrown the books into the trash at some points.

Anyway, I can’t wait to go to college. Finally, English classes that actually teach stuff!

Eragon series = Plot of Star Wars planted in an LOTR universe. 0 original content.

(if you don’t believe me on the plot of star wars thing, think about it. There is an equivalent to nearly every single star wars event/character, minus Han Solo (though he may be combined with Vader in Murtagh) and Chewie.)

I sort of am…
I’m trying to write something for that scholastic alliance for arts and writers contest…
its sort of weird though part of it is like about a transvestite jazz singer traveling across America and I’m not sure if I’m going to continue

I’ve started several, but like Choklit Rain said, I don’t have enough life experiences to come up with something meaningful enough to be put into a great piece of writing. I don’t want to write about anything I know, because high school life is a pretty horribly overdone (and boring) topic, so I’m just writing little shorts here and there about what I observe till I feel I know enough about the world to write about something really interesting.

I did NaNoWriMo in 2008, and it was pretty successful. I did JulNoWriMo in 2009, and while I got to 50K, the story itself was an epic fail.

Yeah, I don’t have many life experiences, so I write fantasy. I rely more on my imagination that way :)

and on topic, publishing a book(even if it’s not a novel) is one of my life goals. I just don’t see the need to put together a novel as an 18 year old, considering that it will suck and sit in a drawer forever.

^I want to be an author with many titles to my name. Best to get started early, if you ask me. I probably won’t get my first out until the last leg of college though.

^ same here, ChoklitRain =]

i’m trying to write a novel now, but i keep getting distracted by life… maybe it’s for the best that way, lol.

but just because a novel written by a teenager might suck doesn’t mean that it was written for nothing… completing a novel is a herculean task, even if it sucks. so it’s good to have the experience, even if the end result is not fantastic.

Trying to write novels was practically all I did after school, between ages of 7 and 12.
Meh. They weren’t novels. More like parodies of existing works w/ crazy twists and lots of inside jokes.
I would never publish any of them, 'cause I don’t feel like editing.

i tried to write a story about my imaginary friend but then she killed herself so i was too sad to write any more

got to a good 10 pages though

not quite a novel huh

I wrote one about this girl but i don’t want to go into detail, it was soooo suckish… I got to a good 48 pages

o.O

I started a chapter book about … wth was it about. I stopped after page 3 because I had no clue what I was rambling on about. This was in 6th grade.

haha niice. I started writing mine during the fall of 8th grade. I hope to start another one soon.

lol I got 8 pages into a bildungsroman novel before I ran out of material

48 pages is practically a novella

Make a good one and publish it. What a good hook that would be.

Of course. Hasn’t everyone? I’ve started several stories, but they always end up as backstory for games rather than full stories…

Yeah, it IS pretty long but I personally don’t like what I wrote about and I don’t find it to be something that someone would love to read about. I’m starting a new one asap and this one will definetly go better.
