Anyone ever use the vanpool?

Just wondering if any students have ever used the vanpool and can tell me how it is... is it on time, comfortable, dependable, etc.? Thanks.

Yes I have for the past two summers. It's usually on time of course this definitely depends on traffic and generally dependable. I can't say that it's incredibly comfortable because I definitely wasn't all the comfortable (I'm pretty sure I had THE worst seat on the van.) If you get cold easily, bring a blanket. If you know you'll have a long trip you may want to bring a pillow to sleep or bring some sort of mp3 player to keep occupied. But, there really isn't too much personal space on the vans so try not to bring too much stuff that may overlap into someone else's personal space.

I want to use the vanpool too...

how does a single trip work? i was reading some info about it online and it seemed there were established vanpools that bused the same people everyday. i was planning on using it once in a while..

you have to go to parking services, they'll see if there's any extra space on the van you want to ride by calling the driver. you then pay, get a voucher (or pass or whatever they're called) and meet the van at the pick-up place.

I see those vans everywhere. Everywhere everywhere. It's crazy.

I once saw one by the taco bell near my house in orange county. That was weird.

That's crazy. Commute from the OC to the Westside! These people should just go to UCI.

Yeah I see them constantly. On days when I come back to LA in the morning (like early morning..530/6) I see them all the time. And then when I'm going South to go home. Those drivers are on the freeway allllllll day.

I live in OC....and I plan to use the vanpool to get home
